How to Earn Money for a Blog

1. Sell advertising space to business that sell products or services related to your blog topic. Advertising banners vary in size and price. Some blog templates already have space for advertisements to be inserted, while other blogs not equipped with these spaces, required the blogger to create the code to insert the advertisements. Often the buyer will create the graphical ad and provide it to the blogger to be inserted.

2. Sign up with existing advertising programs such as GoogleAds, WidgetBucks and TextLinks. The way each program works varies, but the general idea is that advertising relevant to your blog topic is placed on your blog by the company you are working with (ex. GoogleAds). The author of the blog then gets a sum of money per click or per-thousand impressions. The more viewers you have, the more potential there is to make money.

3. Join an affiliate program which posts products for sale that are related to your blog topic. Each time someone purchases something through that blog, the author gets a portion of the funds.

4. Add items to your blog that are for sale. For example, sell merchandise with your blog's name, create an e-book and charge for it or design a teleseminar or class and see how many people you can get to enroll.

5. Add a donation button to a blog. This will allow readers to donate the amount of money that they designate to go toward the author for their efforts.
