10 Quick Steps to Making the Perfect Google AdSense

Ad Placement

In order to get the most out of your ads, place them strategically. Ask yourself these questions: Where is the user's attention likely to be focused? How can I integrate ads into this area without getting in the user's way? What can I do to keep this page looking clean, inviting and uncluttered? What is the user trying to accomplish by visiting my site? Once you have the answers to these questions, you will be able to place your ads accordingly.

Know Your Limit

Placing too many ads can create problems. If your website or blog is cluttered with commercial ads, the user may feel uncomfortable on your site and not return. If you can't sufficiently integrate and blend an ad onto your website, don't include it. If you push too hard, your audience will know.

Site Type Matters

Heavy website traffic does not necessarily mean more ad revenue. AdSense income is based more on your site type and audience. Google creates AdSense ads on your website based on your content, and some content generates more income than others. AdSense does better on a gaming site than it does a technology site.

Types of Ads

The Google AdSense program allows you to chose between text ads or text and image ads. From your choice, Google strives to deliver ads best suited for your website. However, Google doesn't know your layout preferences or understand what your audience might find too irrelevant. If childish flash animation ads don't fit the content or focus of your website, remove them.

Start Immediately

Initiate your AdSense ads early on, even during development phases of your website. You never know when that first burst of traffic will happen, and it would be a shame to lose that revenue.

Know Your Keywords

Do your research and know your keywords. If your keyword is just one word, it's going to be quite difficult for you to accumulate a high amount of traffic. Choose keyword phrases with two to five words. By attaching descriptive and all-encompassing keywords, your audience will be able to find your work easier.

Blend Ads

Give your ads a natural feel by constructing them with the ability to blend. Make foreground colors and background colors match. By blending these colors, it negates the artificial feel of an ad's placement within a website, and, in turn, you will receive higher click ratios.

Mobile Google Adsense

Mobile phones are becoming a steady way for users to access the Internet, so mobilize your website or blog by converting it into a basic format accessible by mobile phones at a much quicker speed.

Attract Traffic

Try a variety of different techniques to generate traffic to your website. Send weekly or monthly emails containing links to your website. Use other websites to promote your links, and place links to your website or blog in all of your personal profiles. Experiment with a variety of offline and online marketing strategies, such as business cards.

Choose Hot Topics

Google AdSense generates roughly 15 cents for each click. The more visitors, the better. Find what topics are hot for the day and write about them or tie them into your website. Don't limit yourself to a narrow topic; find one that would be interesting to most of the online world.
