How to Make Money off a Web Page
1. Add advertisements from a pay-per-click (PPC) ad-network to your site. These ads pay you a set amount of money every time a visitor to your site clicks on an ad. The ad-network will give you HTML code to paste onto your website. The ads may consist of a sidebar, banner, text ads or a combination. Popular PPC networks include Google Adsense, Yahoo! Publisher Networks and Clicksor.
2. Add advertisement from a cost-per-mille (CPM) ad-network. These ads are similar to PPC ads but you are paid a set amount for every 1,000 views of the ads. The amount you receive for a 1,000 views will depend on the size and location of the advertisements. Popular CPM ad-networks include Burst Media, Value Click and Advertising.com.
3. Use an affiliate marketing system on your website. With affiliate marketing you send visitors of your site to purchase merchandise from a third party. This can either be directly, through links from product reviews or recommendation, or indirectly, through advertisements. For every visitor from your site who purchases something, you receive a commission.
4. Sell your own merchandise from your site. This strategy works particularly well if you run a web page showcasing your own creative works, such as art, photography or a web comic. You can sell prints of your work or merchandise based on your work to fans.
5. Accept donations on your web page. Provide an address to send checks or a link to send money through an Internet payment service such as PayPal or AlertPay. People who visit your site often, may be willing to donate if you are providing a quality service such as entertainment or a web-based application.
6. Make access to your web page subscription-based. In order for a subscription model to work you must consistently provide fresh, quality content to keep visitors coming back. Browser-based games are another option that work well with the subscription model.
