Google Adsense Terms

Participation

Google AdSense requires prospective users to first apply for admission to the program. Applicants are asked to certify that they at least 18 years old and that they agree to allow Google advertisements to appear on their website in the forms of links, buttons or search results. Once approved, AdSense users are not allowed to open multiple accounts without written consent from Google. Failure to abide by this condition subjects the user to immediate termination from the program.

Prohibited Uses

By aggreeing to Google AdSense terms and conditions, users and third parties are prohibited from generating queries, impressions or referral events on any link, button, ad or search result generated by AdSense. Furthermore, users agree to never edit or alter any AdSense-generated content or advertising that the program produces. AdSense users also agree to not display objectionable links, buttons or referrals on their website, including pornographic, hate-related or violent advertising. Website publishers are required to monitor their websites to ensure that content does nothing to devalue or disparage Google's reputation or goodwill.

Confidentiality And Guarantee

Google AdSense terms and conditions require users to not disclose or share the company's confidential information, such as programming, technology, software, guidelines and documentation pertaining to the program. Google allows AdSense users to disclose the amount of revenue generated by the program. AdSense terms make no guarantees pertaining to the amount of advertising links followed, referrals completed or monies generated by the program. Google does not guarantee that the AdSense program will operate all of the time, due mostly to power outages, user equipment failure or scheduled maintenance.

Payment

Based on the amount of advertising link clicks followed and completed referrals, AdSense users are paid within 30 days following the end of the calendar month, if the revenue-generated account associated with the user's website exceeds $100. For accounts terminated by the user, Google will pay the remaining balance within 90 days of termination. In no instance, however, will the company pay the user if the account balance is less than $10. AdSense users must also provide Google with a valid tax identification number and a completed W-9 tax form.

Other Terms

AdSense terms and conditions cover a variety of other topics, such as how to communicate with Google, limitations of liability, representation and the company's rights to advertising content. To better understand the terms, it would be wise to read them thoroughly before applying for admission to the program.
