How Do Owners Profit From YouTube?

Video Descriptions

Video owners uploading their content to YouTube enter a description for each video. The description may include a website address or other contact information. For example, if a company makes a video of a product demonstration, the company may include in the video description its online Web address, a link to a sales letter or even a phone number to place orders.

Google AdSense

Google runs the AdSense ad service. Website owners use AdSense to display ads purchased from Google. The owners earn a share of the profits each time a visitor clicks on an ad. Although YouTube members do not actually own YouTube, they can still use their AdSense account to place ads inside their videos. When people watching the videos click on an ad, the video owner earns a commission. To use this method, you need to get accepted as a YouTube Partner.

Renting Videos

Producers of original content can also use the YouTube Partner program to rent out their videos for streaming purposes. Using the instructions provided after being accepted into the program, owners use Google Checkout payment buttons to rent out their original content. You must have a Google Checkout business account to offer your videos for rent through YouTube. Google Checkout is the company's online service for payment processing.

YouTube Partner Qualifications

To become a YouTube Partner, you must post original content deemed suitable by YouTube for its video streaming services. You must either own all content or have permission from the copyright holder to post the content and earn money from it. The program is also looking to see if you are a regular user who has videos with thousands of visitors. However, YouTube does not say exactly how much of a following you need on your videos at the time of application. It makes partnership decisions on a case-by-case basis. You may also qualify if you produce videos and sell them through DVD stores or other outlets.

Embedded Text

There are several editing software products that allow owners to place text of their choice inside a video. These editors use the same kind of technology used to make credits that you see at the beginning and end of movies or TV shows. Owners can place sales messages, website addresses or contact information in the videos. This method tends to attract more eyeballs than simply posting sales messages in the video description because many viewers will never actually read the description. Examples of programs that can embed text include CyberLink Power Director, Adobe Premiere Elements, MAGIX Movie Edit Pro and VideoPad. Although prices vary, these video editors typically cost between $50 and $100.

Uploader Comments

Owners can also leave comments that appear near the top of the comments section on each video. They can include additional information there about products or websites associated with the owner.

How to Set Up Local Ads

1. Set up a budget to determine how much money you have available to contribute towards advertising. Disperse the funds available based on where you feel your ad will prove to be the most beneficial, based on what you are offering and your target market, or more specifically target audience.

2. Start a website. Starting a website can be a low-cost option that will go the farthest. You can use your website to set up ads, display information, special offers and contact information. Starting a website is also a good way to gather your own research. Do this by implementing a tracking feature, where you can ask visitors to indicate how they heard about your website. This will help you to determine which ad is generating the most exposure and make changes, if needed.

3. Contact merchant magazines in your area and investigate other community advertisements. Displaying an ad on a community calender or in a local business magazine is an inexpensive way to reach potential clients. In addition, speak with staff members at your local community center, shopping malls and grocery stores as they may have an area where you can post your ad for free.

4. Post an ad in the newspaper to reach a large audience for a low cost. Keep in mind these sources are more likely referred to by older populations. Therefore, if your target audience is for consumers under the age of 30, this may not prove to be as fruitful as you may like.

How to Increase Your CPM

1. Give your ads key position. Successful advertising depends largely upon the location of the ad. The most valuable real estate on a website is the area referred to as 'above the fold,' meaning the part of a page a user can see without having to scroll down. Placing ads in this area will increase the probability that they will be clicked on, thereby increasing the value of the ad displays you are serving.

2. Keep the ads relevant. Displaying ads that are somehow related to the subject matter on the page is a great way to make sure the advertisement is seen by a targeted audience of people. Athletic products, for example, can be successfully advertised on sites related to health and fitness. Because the audience has a known interest in the subject, you want to display ads that relate to their interest.

3. Blend your text ads into the content of the site. Text-based advertising is very popular, but can sometimes be overlooked by website visitors. Blending the advertisements with font colors and styles that match the rest of your website will allow the ads to look like just any other content. Visitors will view the ads more as additional references than as advertisements, and will be more likely to follow the link.

4. Consider geotargeting your advertisements. If you are part of an ad network that supports the feature, geotargeting allows you to serve ads based on the visitors location. This allows you to offer special promotions to visitors from a certain area, or to make sure a particular advertiser's ads are only shown within the areas they serve. Geotargeting makes the advertisements more relevant to the user on a local level and can lead to higher click-through rates.

How Do I Sign Up to Post Google Links From Home?

1. Visit Google AdSense's website. This is the name for Google's affiliate program where links and ads are posted to your page. You will be asked a series of questions regarding your site. Ensure to answer honestly.

2. Create an account with your name, email and contact information. Google requires this information for payment processing and tax reporting. Google AdSense allows two options for payment via an electronic fund transfer to your bank or via a bank draft (check). Google payments 'are issued within 30 days after the end of the month in which your unpaid earnings reach $100.00.'

3. Provide your site's domain and Web address to your Google AdSense account. This will automatically give the needed permissions for Google to provide ads on your site. You will be required to agree to all terms and conditions as well as Google's privacy notice and payment terms.

4. Enable Google AdSense on your blog or Web page. While some website services offer the option to enable this in your settings, others do not. You will be provided a code to insert into your Web design page in this case. Location of code posting depends on the Web design program you are using.

5. Attach links to various keywords in the body of your articles or notes. In your Web page design template, click the link tab and select the word or words you wish to add the link to. Paste the link to the URL box and click save.

How to Set Up a Website and Make Money

1. Develop a business idea for a website conducive to monetization. Identify a niche that you have interest in and can write about on a consistent basis. Do research to identify if it's a feasible, considering your competition and your client. Will you be able to break into the top 20 on search engine results? Will the people interested in your website convert to customers of the products you represent?

2. Select a domain name for your website. To help your on-page search engine optimization (SEO), choose a domain name that includes your keyword, the main idea of your site. Purchase a domain URL from a domain registration site. Buy a .com if available. If .com is not available to purchase, buy a .net or .org, in that order of preference.

3. Select a platform or software to build your blog on, whether free standing, where you have to have a hosting company host your account for you---or an online structure, where they host it for you. Many online hosted blogs will not allow self-monetization. Many cable Internet accounts include a website with the cost of your account. Investigate which avenue is best in your application.

4. Set up your blog or website and add content to get it indexed by the Google bot. Displaying content, and ranking on the search engines, ensures that readers will find you; without readers, you have no one to convert into customers. Write good quality articles that add value to your reader's time on your site.

5. Sign up for affiliate accounts. Affiliates are people that promote other site's products. You can use companies that represent a large number of affiliate-seeking sites or search for individual sites that list 'Affiliates' at the bottom of their homepage. Once approved as an affiliate, companies will email you where to locate their ads and how to direct people to them with your own personal identifying affiliate link. Clicking on your ad sends your readers to an area on the affiliate site, and you are rewarded with a commission when they make a purchase.

6. Sign up for a Google Adsense account. When you add their code to your website, Google will run ads on your website tailored to your site and content. When your readers click on those ads, readers are directed to where they may purchase that item and you are rewarded with a predetermined fee. You do not have to keep track of anything, Google does all that, and they send you a check when you have earned a minimum amount by the means you select.

7. Start an eBay affiliate account. An eBay account works similarly to Google Adsense. Once approved, you add the eBay code to your site, and they will then add text ads that lead your readers from your website to eBay auctions that are relevant to your content. You receive a commission every time one of your readers buys the displayed auction.

Options for Google Adsense

Content

AdSense for content allows you to place both text and image ads on your website. You set up the size of the space that you want to dedicate to ads and Google will serve the number of ads that fit in that space. You have the option to include text ads, which are three lines of basic text, and link ads, which take users to a series of advertisements based on the word.

Search

When a user searches in Google, he receives ads on the right-hand side and sometimes at the top. You can set up your site to allow users to search through the content on your site using Google's search engine. You will earn revenue if the user clicks on one of the ads.

Feeds

Your users may sign up to receive feeds of your latest updates. Through the AdSense program, you can sign up to have ads put into your feeds. When you update your content, this will show up in your user's reader--such as My Yahoo!--and deliver ads at the same time.

Domains

If you've purchased a domain name, but haven't started using it, you could be losing money. If someone happens to go to that domain name, they'll get an error message. Instead, you could use Google's AdSense for domains to list ads on your domain.

Mobile Sites

More and more companies are converting their traditional websites to make them accessible from mobile devices. Through AdSense for mobile sites, you can serve up smaller ads alongside your mobile content.

How to Place Ads Inline With Text in Google AdSense

1. Copy the code for your AdSense unit into a text editor such as Notepad. If you do not have an AdSense unit yet, go to the AdSense website, log in and click 'My Ads' at the top of the page to create a new unit.

2. Place the cursor at the beginning of the AdSense code, then press Enter to create a new blank line above the code.

5. Type '' in the blank line.

6. Copy all of the text in the text editor, and place the new block of code into the source code for your website to begin displaying the AdSense unit.

How to Manage a Blog

Managing a Blog

1. Run your blog like a business. Managing a successful blog requires having a plan in place. Evaluate how many times you will post a week, who your target market is, what topics you will focus on, and how you will attract visitors.

2. Brand your blog. Offer your visitors a unique selling proposition and focusing on providing them content unlike anyone else. Stick with a consistent style of writing that visitors will come to expect and rely on.

3. Market your blog. Part of managing your blog goes beyond just writing the content. Actively promote it on social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Digg. Set aside a certain amount of time each day to submit new posts to these social networking sites and take time to comment on other blogs in your niche. Providing links back to your site in your comments can help gain you traffic.

4. Monetize your blog. Evaluate and experiment with different monetization methods. Consider implementing Google Adsense or promoting products on Clickbank that fall into your niche. Take time to review what methods are making money and which ones need to go. Managing a blog that will make you money, requires you to continually seek out and promote new products.

5. Decide on a call-to-action. Identifying a strong call-to-action will help you manage your blog and stick to your plan. A call-to-action could be getting a visitor to click on a Google Adsense ad, or follow through on an affiliate link in your blog post.

6. Focus on producing consistently high quality content. Have several posts waiting in queue for times that you are unable to update your blog. Having extra posts on-hand will serve as a backup and allow you to stick to your goals of uploading weekly content. Consider setting a publish date in advance to publish your blog posts for when you are not at the computer. This is an important part of managing your blog and making sure content is delivered to your visitors on a consistent basis to keep them coming back.

How to Set Up an Advertising Website

Preparing Your Website for Advertising

1. Design a visually appealing website that is easy to navigate. Place advertisements above the fold, meaning visitors shouldn't have to scroll down to view the ads. Remove any unattractive images or widgets to make room for the ads.

2. Analyze your traffic. Advertisers may not want to pay to be exposed to your traffic if it's too low, so give your website time to get regular visitors that will appeal to advertisers.

3. Target a specific audience. If you write a blog for moms, make sure all posts relate to topics moms are interested in. Don't deviate from your audience just to make a fast buck. Advertisers will appreciate your laser focus.

Set up Advertising

4. Choose an ad networks if you aren't very technical or if you have low traffic. With networks, someone else does all the hard work for you, and you simply paste the ad code into the code on your website. They will track visits and pay you based on clicks. The drawback is ad networks don't pay much.

5. Work directly with advertisers to secure advertising packages for several months or years at a time. This option can be lucrative if your website is popular. Decide how much you want to charge and what size ad your advertisers will receive for that amount.

6. Sign up to be an affiliate for sites like Amazon or other commerce sites related to your website content. If someone clicks your affiliate links and buys something from that site, you will receive a percent of the sale.

Show Your Worth

7. Post an Advertise with Us page on your site if you are working directly with advertisers. Write a few paragraphs about your demographic statistics. The more information you can provide, the better.

8. Create a media kit listing your ad options and rates. Many companies don't like to list their advertising rates directly on their website, as competitors can see them.

9. Add a contact form to the website and email the media kit to interested advertisers.

How Does Google AdSense Code Work?

What Is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is an online advertising network that offers website owners the opportunity to make money by displaying advertising on their sites. Ads can appear on websites, blogs, search pages, RSS feeds, parked domains, videos and browser-based games. To become a publisher with Google AdSense, you'll need to fill out a short application and agree to follow the AdSense program policies. Google AdSense offers text and image ads in several sizes, fonts and colors. Upon approval by Google AdSense, you will be given a Publisher ID beginning with 'pub-' followed by 16 digits. Now, you will be able to log into your account and set up your advertising.

AdSense Code

Google AdSense creates the code, which the publisher copies and pastes into a web page or blog post at the point where it is to appear. This is an example of AdSense code for a 728-by-90-pixel ad. Google assigns the numbers following 'google_ad_client' and 'google_ad_slot.'

When a webpage containing this code is displayed, AdSense counts the page visit. If the visitor clicks on the ad, s/he is redirected to the advertiser's website, and Google counts the click and credits the AdSense publisher's account. Payments for clicks on ads range from a few cents to several dollars. There is no payment for the public-service ads, which are displayed when there is no paid advertising available. An AdSense publisher can log into Google AdSense at any time and see a running total of page views, clicks and earnings. More detailed reports are available for publishers of large websites with many ads.AdSense publishers may prevent competitors' ads from appearing, and may choose to review all advertising before it appears on the site.

Evolution of Google AdSense

In the past, Google also provided referral ads, which paid only if the visitor completed an action, such as purchasing a magazine subscription. AdSense referral advertising was discontinued in 2008. Google AdSense traditionally served up advertising relevant to the content of a web page. Beginning in March 2009, their policy changed to serving ads relevant to what a site visitor may be interested in, as revealed by cookies and browsing history. Both website owners and visitors may opt out of interest-based advertising.

How to Make Money Writing A Blog

Find Your Niche

1. List all of the topics you are comfortable writing about, and areas where you have personal experience and knowledge.

2. Research the popularity of the topics to ensure that you choose something people search for. Writing the best blog on the Internet about purple dogs is meaningless unless people actually want to read about purple dogs. Use programs such as Market Samurai or Google's keyword tool to assess how many people search for those particular topics each month.

3. Perform an Internet search for the topics you think you want to write about, and take a careful look at the sites that show up on page one. Those sites will become your competition, and you need to be sure that you either cover the topic better or approach it in an entirely different way.

Create Your Blog

4. Determine the right platform for your blog. Blogger.com and WordPress.com allow you to create a blog at no cost, but there are drawbacks. If you have a few dollars to spare, you can buy a hosting plan where a larger company holds your blog on its servers making it accessible to the public, and use WordPress.org to structure the blog.

5. Create a catchy name for your blog, making sure that it is reflective of what readers will find when they read it.

6. Start writing. To ensure a successful blog, you should write at least one blog post in the beginning, and then on a regular posting schedule of at least once or twice per week after that.

Monetize It

7. Research the different types of monetization and choose the ones most appropriate to your topic. Some blogs are better suited for selling e-books, white papers or e-newsletters, while others lean toward selling specific products or simple text or image link ads. ProBlogger Darren Rowse uses several types of monetization, including placing image and text ads from Google AdSense and Chitika on his site, selling products through Amazon's affiliate program and selling private ads to relevant companies.

8. Look for profitable, commercial blog networks that fit your topic, and apply for acceptance into them once you have a substantial amount of posts on your site. Networks such as FoodBuzz have hundreds or thousands of blogs that are networked together, and they provide an additional income stream through their own advertising.

9. Determine the best placements for ads on your site, whether they are banner or text ads, or a simple link to your e-book or e-newsletter subscription. Make sure that the ads are a good fit for your site, and do not overpower your blog with ads.

Get Traffic

10. Learn the techniques you need to get your blog ranked highly in the search engines, and how to write compelling text to draw a reader in. No matter how well you have monetized your blog, you will not make money unless people visit it.

11. Research and apply on-page optimization factors, such as keyword placement, and off-page optimization, such as backlinks and metatags. Enroll in a reputable program, such as The Keyword Academy, to learn the right techniques and strategies.

12. Engage in social marketing by creating a Twitter account and Facebook fan page for your blog.

Google Adwords Vs. Google Adsense

Revenue vs. Expense

Google AdSense provides a way for website owners to earn revenue on advertising on their sites, while Google AdWords offers an avenue for advertisers to do targeted online advertising. Google AdSense clients earn income depending on the amount of activity associated with the ads on their site, based on site impressions or clicks on the ads, and they do not pay Google to enroll. On the other side of the equation, Google AdWords places ads through Google on websites that serve the advertisers' intended audiences and the advertisers pay Google based on impressions or ad clicks.

Content Vs. Client

The Google AdSense clients play a fairly passive role in participating in the program. They decide what kinds of advertisements to allow on their site, such as text-only, image or video ads, and then continue to generate the content their site was intended to produce, accepting their portion of ad revenues as they arrive. Google AdWords clients, however, design their ads and decide which key words and phrases they want to trigger the placement of their ads on a site. This allows them to focus their ads on the demographics they are hoping to reach.

Analytics

Users of Google AdSense and Google AdWords are provided with access to analytics tools that give them valuable information about their visitors (AdSense) and customers (AdWords). Analytics for AdSense let website owners know when and where visitors click on ads on their sites. This allows the site owners to see what content attracts the most visitors that click on ads, giving them knowledge into what types of material might attract revenue. The analytics for AdWords, meanwhile, allows the advertiser to see how many people are clicking on their ads, how many new visitors are going to their website and which sites are generating the traffic.

Audience

Google AdSense is not designed to help a content provider expand its audience or attract more visitors. It is there to help the operators of websites monetize their sites and fund the operation of them. On the other hand, Google AdWords is all about growing the audience for participating advertisers. The goal of Google AdWords ads is for Web users to click on the ads and to learn more about the advertisers, raising their profile and increasing their customer base.

Rules on Parked Domains

Domain Name Selection

Domain parking companies generally have strict rules regarding acceptable domain names. A domain name cannot infringe on a company's trademarks and generally cannot be a misspelling of a real website's name. The domain name also should not contain words that might be considered offensive or illegal.

Fraudulent Clicks

Because domain parking programs generally pay you for each click of an advertisement, you cannot click your own ads. You also cannot ask friends or family to click your ads. The domain parking program earns money when advertisement clicks result in product sales, and product sales only result from people who click advertisements because they want to learn more.

Fraudulent Traffic

You cannot send traffic to a parked domain by linking to it from another website or inserting scripts that cause the parked domain to pop up automatically in a Web browser. The parked domain can generate traffic only through sources such as old links from when the domain previously belonged to a developed website or from visitors typing the domain name manually.

Domain Category

When you park a domain, you provide a general category or list of keywords to the advertising company. This information allows the company to display advertisements that someone visiting the domain might find relevant. Do not select a category or keywords unrelated to the topic of the domain name; doing so may result in your removal from the domain parking program.

How to Find the Best Keywords For Your Blog, Website or Article

1. Write down a list of topics you are knowledgeable about. Even if you don't think that skill or knowledge you possess about a particular subject will be profitable, write it down anyway: you'd be surprised to find how many niche topics are in fact huge money-makers.

2. Go to Google Adword's Keyword Tool. You can find a link to it in the resources. Enter your keyword into the box and hit 'Get keyword ideas'.

3. Typically, a long list of keywords will populate. You're going to want to display three columns; everything else you can hide. Using the drop-down menu, make sure that 'Estimated Avg. CPC', 'Advertiser Competition' and 'Global Monthly Search Volume' are all displayed.

4. Click on 'Estimated Avg. CPC'. It will organize the list by highest earning CPC. CPC stands for 'cost-per-click'. By sorting the list by CPC, you can gain a general idea of how much each word is typically worth: i.e. how much the ads listed on your article or website will earn you per advertisement clicked. (Granted, Google and eHow both take a percentage of that money, so you won't exactly get the full amount shown.)

5. Review your keyword's advertiser competition. To do this, simply mouseover the green/teal bar next to your keyword, and a ranking will pop up. The rankings can vary from 'no advertiser competition' all the way to 'very high advertiser competition'. The best keywords are those who are rated as having anything at or above a high advertiser competition. This means that lots of advertisers are competing for this word, meaning that you will typically have a wealth of high-earning, related ads displayed on your article, website or blog.

6. Lastly, take heed of the global monthly search volume. This will give you some idea of how often people are searching for your word. While many people speak of the importance of making money off of 'niche' topics, don't be afraid of a high search volume: if you advertise your article or website and do proper SEO, you can get to the top of the search engines and -- if you have quality information -- beat out the competition, thus gaining the majority of those ad clicks for yourself. At the same time, however, a high-earning niche topic can definitely be the way to go. At this point, you'd want to size up your competition to decide what is the best route to take.

7. Implement your chosen keywords into your article, website or blog, making sure not to 'over-stuff' them. Whenever using keywords, also make sure that your writing still sounds natural, so as not to alienate readers: it's useless to spend all that time researching keywords only to have no one take the time to read what you've written.

How to Use My Computer to Make Money for Free

Start Monetized Blog

1. Research interesting topics you find interesting. Your topic should also be something of widespread interest: celebrity gossip, home business ideas, home décor, fashion and more. However, you can turn virtually any topic into a successful blog. Some even create blogs dedicated to particular television shows. Find something that interests you.

2. Set up a blog using one of the free blog creation sites like Wordpress or Blogger. You simply set up an account, enter your email address, a user name and password. You can easily choose the layout and appearance of your blog and create posts by merely typing words and hitting the 'Publish' button on your blog dashboard.

3. Get a Google Adsense account and link to your blog. To do this, go to the Google website and click on the 'Adsense' option under the 'More' heading at the top of the page. You will need to choose a user name and password. Once your account is set up, you will need to submit the web address for your site to Google for review. If Google approves your ads, you will receive an email with specific instructions for linking your Adsense account to your blog. Usually this step consists of entering a specific Google-provided code into the 'html' setting. Whenever a vistor comes to your site and clicks on one of the Google ads, you will receive a specific dollar amount that varies per advertisement.

Write On-line Content

4. Research on-line companies that purchase on-line content. Some of the most popular purchasers of on-line content are Associated Content, Demand Studios, Info Barrel, Hub Pages, Helium and FireHow. Some of these sites will provide upfront payments for content submissions, while others will pay depending on how much traffic your content receives.

5. Set up an account with one or two of the on-line content purchasing platforms you researched in Step one. Some on-line content purchasers like Demand Studios require their writers to apply for a position and be accepted before they can receive payment for submissions. Others will let you set up an account, so you simply enter your email address, an account user name and password.

6. Create on-line content. Write articles, reports or short stories on any topic you choose from a list of the content purchaser's available assignments. The more content you create, the more you will make.

Google AdSense Rules

Invalid Clicks and Impressions

Google prohibits any publishers in the AdSense program from manually clicking on their own ads for the sole purpose of increasing ad revenue. This means that publishers can't click on their own ads, encourage others to do so or pay for services that use humans or robots to click on ads for the sole purpose of increasing their revenue. Publishers will not be able to use AdSense on their websites if they engage in invalid practices of this nature.

Prohibited Content--Adult and Gambling

Publishers in the AdSense program must not place AdSense ads on any website with nude photos or videos, adult language, sex toys and products, sexual tips, sexual fetishes or links to any site that has such content. Websites with gambling content, which include those that allow visitors to place bets in exchange for cash or prizes or links to other gambling sites, can't participant in AdSense.

Prohibited Content--Drugs, Violence, Crime and Hate

You can not use AdSense on websites that feature drugs, alcohol, tobacco, legal and illegal prescriptions, drug paraphernalia or herbal drugs. Websites that feature violent and gory content that feature bloodshed, fight scenes and violent accidents can't have AdSense advertising on them. Neither can sites that promote illegal activity such as selling fake IDs, fake passports or Social-Security cards or sites advocating hate groups or exclusion or bias based on race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Payment

Google will not issue payment to a publisher until her account has reached a certain payment threshold, which in 2010 was $100. If your account has reached $100 or more at the end of the 30-day billing cycle, Google will pay you by check within 30 days after the billing cycle has ended.

Traffic

Google AdSense discourages the use of traffic-exchange programs and unsolicited emails as a method of increasing traffic to a publisher's website. Although traffic-exchange programs are not prohibited, they are discouraged since they may lead to invalid clicks. Publishers also must not send unsolicited emails (spam) that feature links to sites with AdSense content.

Changing Ads and Prohibited Placement

Publishers may not produce content that is intended to look like Google ads on their website. You must not place Google ads in a floating box which allow ads to hover over a web page, place ads in pop-up windows, enter keywords into IFRAMES to affect ad targeting, put ads into a software application, alter the AdSense code or place ads on a page which produces more than three pop-up windows.

How to Upload Videos on YouTube That Are Longer Than 10 Minutes

1. Open a Google AdSense account, which can speed up the Partnership application process. According to YouTube, users who already have an AdSense account can expect a decision on their application within 24 hours. Others might have to wait up to three days.

2. Apply for Partnership by submitting the online application on the YouTube Partners website. The form will ask for biographical information, as well as information about your content. Keep in mind that all posted content must be original. Users also must own the global rights to all music videos.

3. If admitted into the Partner program, you will be able to upload videos longer than 10 minutes.

4. Click 'Upload,' found at the top of any YouTube page. Click 'Browse' to pull up the video and describe it (title, description, tags and category). Click 'Save' to complete the upload.

How to Earn Money With My PayPal Account

1. Log in to your PayPal account.

2. Click 'Money Market' near the bottom of the screen on your 'My Account Page.'

3. Click 'Enroll Now' to enroll your PayPal account in the money market program that sweeps the balance of your account into a money market fund on a daily basis. This means your money will always be accessible like it is now, plus you will earn money on every dollar in your account every day.

4. Next, click 'Referrals' at the bottom of the 'My Account' page. (It is near where you clicked on 'Money Market.') You will get two kinds of codes. One is a link that you can add to any email or other format you chose. The second is code that can be placed on a website. Both will pay you $1,000 anytime someone signs up for a PayPal Merchant account after clicking on your link.

How to Earn Money Through Google's AdSense Program

1. Apply for the AdSense Program. Visit www.google.com/adsense to fill out the online application form. Answer the questions completely and accurately. You will need either a blog or a website where you can put ads on.

2. Wait for the response e-mail. Probably the most anxious you'll be during this process no doubt.

3. You'll receive a response letting you know if the application was approved or denied. If you have tried AdSense previously and canceled your account, you CAN reapply for a new one, you'll just have to use a different e-mail address in the application. If you have tried it and were canceled by Google, you are not eligible to participate in the program anymore.

4. Once your application is approved and you receive an e-mail confirmation, click the link inside the e-mail to go to your account. There you can create ads to put into your website. The instructions are easy to follow and simple to do.

5. Try experimenting with different ad styles. The more creative you are, the more the monetary possibilities exist. The nice thing about the program is you can track which ads are your main sources of revenue.

6. Another way to earn money through AdSense is by using a third party, such as this site, eHow. I've mentioned this before in my internet business article. With using a third party site, they have applied to the AdSense program and give you a cut of ad revenue generated from your pages.

Google and Advertising

History of Google Advertising

Google entered the advertising business in 2000 with its AdWords product. It then followed up in 2003 with a beta version of its AdSense application. In 2007, Google acquired DoubleClick, which was a business that sold tools for targeted advertising, such as tracking cookies, to advertising agencies and business clients.

AdWords

AdWords is Google's primary advertising product, marketed to businesses both large and small. Upon creating an AdWords account, businesses can create an ad campaign with a short advertisement, a website and a set of keywords. When a user makes a Google search and enters the keywords the business is associated with, that business is displayed as a 'Sponsored Link' on the top and right of the actual search results. The link then leads to the business's website. Google charges for this service on a pay-per-click basis, with a payment plan that contains a strict budget limit.

AdSense

AdSense is an ad-serving program, which is marketed to website owners that are trying to earn revenue through hosting advertisements on their site. These ads may be text-based, or they can include images and videos. To use the program, a website designer inserts a string of JavaScript code onto the client's website. This code accesses Google's servers and retrieves AdWords advertising to display on the site. If using contextual advertising, Google accesses its cache of the website to determine which ads to deliver. In addition, the program favors high-paying advertisers by placing their content more prominently on the website, which results in more profit for the host.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Google Advertising

For website owners, AdSense offers many advantages over other forms of advertising. Before Google, most Web advertising was done through banner ads and pop-ups. These were found to be irritating to users, and many contained irrelevant, overly generic or deceptive offers. With AdSense's contextual advertising, most advertisements are tuned to the content of the website, increasing the odds of an ad's relevancy to visitors. However, AdSense is still imperfect. Although Google does police some content and removes certain keywords it considers inappropriate, it cannot guarantee that all of its AdWords partners are legitimate. As a result, users may consider the results less legitimate than ads sold directly by respected companies.

How to Make Images Appear on Websites Via Dreamweaver 8

1. Select an appropriate image. Website images must be saved in a format web browsers understand. Popular formats include JPEG, GIF and PNG. Images must also be small enough to fit on most screens. Generally speaking, the image should be no wider than 800 pixels.

2. Place your selected image in the same folder as your webpage. Keeping your images and webpages in the same place makes keeping track of them easier. It also makes uploading website files to your server simpler.

3. Open your webpage in Dreamweaver 8. Click 'File' in the menu at the top of your screen, then select 'Open.' Find the webpage where you want to insert the image, then double-click its icon to open it.

4. Insert your image. Click your mouse on the line or in the table cell where you want your image to appear. Click 'Insert' in the menu at the top of your screen, then select 'Image.' Find the image file you want to insert, then double-click its icon to insert it.

5. Add alt text to the image. Alt text labels describe webpage images. If a visitor views your page in a web browser that cannot show images, or if an image file is missing, alt text provides information about the content of the image. Add alt text to the image you just placed by clicking it and entering a brief description in the field labeled 'Alt,' found in the 'Properties' toolbar. Finally, save all of your changes by clicking 'File,' then selecting 'Save.'

6. View your updated webpage. Open the webpage you just updated in your browser. The image you added in Step 4 appears on the screen. Place your mouse over the image, and the alt text created in Step 5 appears as well.

Google Advertising Guidelines

AdWords Creative Guidelines

Advertising must use proper grammar and spelling, although commonly misspelled words like 'lite,' and 'tonite' are allowed. Ads cannot make claims regarding competitors, unless these claims are substantiated in the landing page linked from the ad. Comparative and subjective phrases using words like 'best' or '#1' are seldom allowed unless you have third-party verification that your service or product is better than all others. Claims of affiliation with Google are also not allowed in an ad.

Content Guidelines

Both AdWords and AdSense have an extensive list of topics that are not allowed in ads, pages containing ads, including links to other pages or websites with such content. A few examples of inappropriate content include gambling, adult sexual services, tobacco products, alcohol, drugs and drug paraphernalia, the promotion of violence, racial intolerance and illegal activity. Violation of content policies can result in rejection of ads, domains disabled from the advertising programs, account suspension and a lifetime ban for any of your domains from Google's advertising programs.

AdWords Site Guidelines

The displayed web address in an ad must be consistent with the link. Google rates landing pages (the page visitors go to when clicking on an ad) for quality. Landing pages should have original content that is relevant to the ad, be transparent in its purpose, and easily navigable. Landing pages must not use pop-ups that hinder navigation away from the page. Self-closing pop-up pages, pop-under pages, fake system warnings, or timed pop-ups are also prohibited. Visitors must also be able to navigate from the landing page by clicking the browser 'back' button with one click. Pages containing malware are also prohibited.

AdSense Site Guidelines

Web pages using Google AdSense must not encourage visitors to click on ads. This includes offering special incentives to visitors or using deceptive methods to get clicks like using arrows pointing to ads. Webpages cannot contain content protected by copyright unless the publisher has the legal right to do so. Publishers cannot use paid-to-click programs for their websites, or use spam emails to get traffic to their sites. AdSense code cannot be altered. Ads cannot be placed in inappropriate places like pop-ups. Publishers must also provide privacy and disclosure information to visitors regarding the use of advertising cookies placed in visitors' browsers.

1. Become an affiliate. Most websites now use Google's AdSense and Amazon to make money. Sign up with Amazon's affiliate program, as well as Google's AdSense.

2. Select the type of Amazon products that you wish to sell on your website. If you have a site specializing in selling books, then it is best to not use banner ads advertising DVDs---unless they are DVDs of a TV series or movie, which was originally famous as a book.

3. Add AdSense ads to your website. AdSense ads are a bit more difficult to control the content of than Amazon banner ads. You can, however, use the 'Competitive Ad Filter' to stop any company which is on a lot of your pages advertising irrelevant content. Google's 'AdSense Preview Tool' will also let you see what ads are coming up on a particular page, even if they are not showing when you view that page. You can then, using this tool, copy the url of a company you don't want advertising on your website, and paste it into the 'Competitive Ad Filter' box and remove their ads that way.

Sell Your Own Items

4. Use the numerous free e-commerce programs to create a store selling your own products. Also use PayPal buttons on your site. You can really just have a store made up of PayPal buttons, but you should test them all to see if they are working properly.

5. Test out just a few of your items to begin with, and see what proves to be popular. If you spend too much time putting items up on your store, then you may lose valuable marketing time, which is very important in the early stages of your venture. You may also end up disillusioned pretty quickly if you don't get very good results after a lot of hard work. Take things slowly, and tweak things wherever necessary.

6. Advertise your products and website on social networking sites for free. Advertising can be very expensive for a small business, so social networking sites are a great, and free, alternative to traditional advertising.

How to Turn Off Infolinks

1. Access your website's HTML code. There is no single way to access HTML code; it all depends on what software you use to manage your website. User-friendly website-building software allows you to drag and drop website components, but you should notice a 'Source Code' or 'HTML' button somewhere on the screen to access the raw code.

2. Type '

' into the code, removing the quotation marks. HTML code is sequential. In other words, the website reads the code from left to right and top to bottom as it loads. If you want to disable Infolinks for the entire page, place the code at the top of the code. To turn off Infolinks for a certain section of code, place it just before that section, followed by '

' after the section is over.

3. Save your changes and exit the website editor. In most website editors, you save changes by clicking 'File' and 'Save' or by clicking 'Upload to Internet.' Once you've saved your changes, Infolinks will no longer appear on your website.

How to Tighten Pores

1. First, you will need to have about a cup of oatmeal. Grind it up in a blender or food processor. It shouldn't take very long at all. Make sure it is ground up finely.

2. After that you will need about half a cup of hot or warm water. Pour your oatmeal into the water and stir.

3. Let it sit for awhile until it thickens into a paste. After it thickens enough apply it your face. You can apply it all over or in trouble spots around your face. Let it dry completely. Rinse with warm water and there ya go! Instantly awesome skin.

How to Add Google AdSense to Joomla

Create a Google AdSense account

1. Navigate to the Google AdSense application page (see Resources). Enter your website URL, making sure that the address is the primary domain.

2. Choose a language. Agree to not run ads that include incentives to click them or pornographic content by clicking on the two corresponding check boxes. Select an account type, whether business or individual, and your country or territory.

3. Enter your name or your business name, which should match the name on the bank account you'll use. If using a business account, enter a contact name corresponding to the address you enter below it. Enter a telephone number.

4. Click four required check boxes: agreeing that the payee name you entered can receive checks, agreeing that you will not click your own AdSense ads, certifying that you've read the program policies and certifying that you do not already have an approved AdSense account. There is an optional box you can check to receive or limit periodic newsletters. Answer how you found out about AdSense from the drop-down menu.

5. Click 'Submit Information' at the bottom of the application and check the information you entered on the next page. Choose to use an existing Google account or create a new log-in and click 'Continue.' You'll have to wait one or two days while Google reviews your application.

Download and Install the Add-on

6. Choose an AdSense Add-on from Joomla's extension search (see Resources). As of August 2010, high-rated options compatible with Joomla 1.5 include 'Phoca Google AdSense Easy,' 'CB Adsense Plugin with Revenue Sharing,' 'GoogleAds plugin,' 'Adsense Inserter' and 'Google Adsense SiteSearch for Joomla 1.5.'

7. Download the add-on by clicking the link in the search list and clicking 'Download' on the resulting page. The download should start automatically. If it doesn't, click the link corresponding to the version of Joomla you're using, 1.0 or 1.5. Save the file.

8. Log on as an administrator to your Joomla site. Under 'Extensions' click 'Install/Uninstall.' In the box for 'Package File,' browse for the add-on you just downloaded. Click 'Upload File & Install.'

9. Navigate 'Module Manager' or 'Plugin Manager' depending on the type of add-on you installed under the 'Extensions' drop-down menu. Open the new add-on.

Link the Add-on to Google

10. Log on to your Google AdSense account. Click the 'AdSense Setup' tab and click 'AdSense for Content.'

11. Click 'Single Page' and scroll down to the box titled 'Your AdSense code.' Look for the line that starts with 'google_ad_client =' and copy the string of numbers that follows, including 'pub-' but excluding the quotation marks.

12. Go back to your Joomla add-on and scroll down until you see the box for 'Publisher ID.' Paste the publisher ID you copied from your AdSense account.

13. Modify the add-on within Joomla. Depending on the type of add-on you downloaded, you can change the layout, placement, colors and text of the ads that will appear on your website.

14. Save the add-on. Load your website to make sure the changes you made are reflected where appropriate.

How to Make Money off a Web Page

1. Add advertisements from a pay-per-click (PPC) ad-network to your site. These ads pay you a set amount of money every time a visitor to your site clicks on an ad. The ad-network will give you HTML code to paste onto your website. The ads may consist of a sidebar, banner, text ads or a combination. Popular PPC networks include Google Adsense, Yahoo! Publisher Networks and Clicksor.

2. Add advertisement from a cost-per-mille (CPM) ad-network. These ads are similar to PPC ads but you are paid a set amount for every 1,000 views of the ads. The amount you receive for a 1,000 views will depend on the size and location of the advertisements. Popular CPM ad-networks include Burst Media, Value Click and Advertising.com.

3. Use an affiliate marketing system on your website. With affiliate marketing you send visitors of your site to purchase merchandise from a third party. This can either be directly, through links from product reviews or recommendation, or indirectly, through advertisements. For every visitor from your site who purchases something, you receive a commission.

4. Sell your own merchandise from your site. This strategy works particularly well if you run a web page showcasing your own creative works, such as art, photography or a web comic. You can sell prints of your work or merchandise based on your work to fans.

5. Accept donations on your web page. Provide an address to send checks or a link to send money through an Internet payment service such as PayPal or AlertPay. People who visit your site often, may be willing to donate if you are providing a quality service such as entertainment or a web-based application.

6. Make access to your web page subscription-based. In order for a subscription model to work you must consistently provide fresh, quality content to keep visitors coming back. Browser-based games are another option that work well with the subscription model.

How to Insert a PowerPoint Into a Google Page

1. Prepare the PowerPoint presentation. Try to keep it simple for the conversion process, especially if you don't own conversion tools. Limit the amount of animations, transitions and audio.

2. Convert the PowerPoint presentation to Flash. You can do it manually if you have programming experience. Or you can use a free converter if your presentation is simple. If the presentation is more complex and you are going to be making a lot of conversions, you may want to consider purchasing a converter such as PPT2Flash.

3. Set up your Google Page for the PowerPoint. Set up a Google Page or log into your existing Google Page account. If you have a Gmail account you already have access to a Google Page, but you may not have set it up yet.

4. Click on the 'Upload' link on the right side of the screen. Click 'Browse' to find the converted PowerPoint file. Click on the file's name and choose 'Open.' Click on the new link that appears in the 'Upload' box. Copy the URL of that link that opens to your clipboard.

5. Go to the Google Page where you plan to insert the PowerPoint. Click in the section where you intend to put the PowerPoint show. Locate the 'Edit HTML' link in the lower right corner of the screen. Click on it.

6. Insert the following HTML code into the box that opens:

7. Change 'URL of the uploaded flash file' to the URL you copied to the clipboard in Step 4. Preview the Google Page and if all is correct, publish it.

How to Make Money With Your Own Live Chat Website

1. Determine the type of website you want to start for live chatting. Live chat websites can range from adult-themed to expertise sites such as law or legal advice. Decide which type of live chat site makes sense for you based on your expertise and what you have to offer.

2. Secure a website. Purchase a website through a reputable domain name service. Make sure that the domain registry service participates in the registration of International Domain Names, or IDNs. This is a network which makes sure no one else 'owns' the domain name. Secure a website whose name correlates to the type of live chat you will be performing.

3. Build your live chat website. You can pay to have your website professionally built, or use a 'build it yourself' subscription service. The key things for the live chat website will be building areas where you can chat in groups or in private. Include pages with biographic information, pictures and other information that correlate with your type of live chat site. Also be sure to embed a payment method for your website.

4. Add Google Adsense to your website. Google Adsense is a program which allows advertisers to place advertisements on your website. When an ad gets clicked by a user, the user is then transported to another website. As the host of that ad, you get paid by the advertiser for each click. The amounts vary based on the type of advertisement. See Resources for more information.

5. Advertise your website. To make money, you want to keep your costs low so that you can keep more of the business income. Forgo some of the traditional banner advertising. Those ads will be bought and paid for by corporations. For your website, advertise on community boards and places that share a common theme with your website. As you invite people for live chat, more customers will start to follow.

6. Get customers to commit to paying you. This can be the tricky part. You want to offer enough incentive that when they visit your website, they begin to engage with you and then reach for their wallets. At some point in the conversation, you will have to ask them to 'go private' or pay for a service (such as reviewing a legal document). If they do not, you will eventually have to stop communicating with that person. After all, there is only one of you to make money

How to Get Kicked Off of Google Adsense

1. Clicking on your own ads will get you kicked off Adsense really quickly. How does Google know that you are clicking on your ads? They know through your I.P. address. This is your computer's signature. When you signed into the Google Adsense dashboard to access your account, Google recorded your I.P. address and if you click on your own ads, Google will know.

2. Provide incentives for people to click on your Adsense advertisements. You can offer money, discounts, or just beg and plead to get people to click on your ads. This will also get you kicked off of Adsense because their ads are not getting quality clicks. There is minimal to no chance that the people clicking on those ads are actually interested in what the end website has to offer. They are only clicking because of your incentive and that hurts Google's reputation.

3. Running an Adwords program to promote a website with Adsense content is unethical. You will probably pay a low amount for the clicks that you receive from the sponsored ads on the Google search to receive high quality clicks on the Adsense ads sponsored on your Website. Google loses here, Google doesn't like to lose.

How to Make Money Through Hits on the Internet

How to Make Money through Hits on the Internet

1. Sign up for the Adsense program at Google.com, as this is one of the fastest ways to capitalize off your hits. Adsense is an advertising network full of advertisers that want to place ads on websites and compensate website owners, or 'publishers,' for clicks on their ads. To get an account, Adsense requires information about you and your site. Once you have an account, place the Adsense code on your website and you can start making money within minutes. A click on an ad on your site can cost an advertiser as little as five cents, of which Google gets a cut before you do, so do not expect Adsense to be incredibly lucrative.

2. Explore other advertising networks that better suit your needs by searching for 'ad networks' on search engines. While Adsense is one of the biggest ad networks, it is not necessarily the best one for every publisher, and some advertising networks compensate at higher rates for particular sites.

3. Sell your own ad space. Ad networks do the selling for you, leaving you to worry about the hits you are generating for you website. However, ad networks take a percentage of the revenue you generate for having made the sell with the advertisers. To eliminate ad networks' percentage of the revenue you generate, sell ad space on your website directly to advertisers. This is nearly impossible to do unless you have hundreds of thousands of hits per month; nevertheless, you get all of the revenue you generate if you are able to make the sales yourself.

4. Sign up for an affiliate program. This type of program allows a publisher to work directly with an advertiser and earn a predetermined amount of money for each action the publisher generates for the advertiser. For example, if someone on your website clicks on one of your advertiser's links and that person goes on to buy something from the advertiser, you will get a percentage, or set amount, of that purchase paid to you. An effective way to use affiliate programs is to work with advertisers in an industry directly related to the content generating hits for your website, such as using StubHub.com's affiliate program on a website about buying cheap event tickets.

5. Sell your own products. If you are not interested in being the middle man, you can always use hits on your website as a means to sell your own products. You can place links on your website in the same way you would with an advertising network or affiliate program, only these links can take people to your own store, where you sell your own products.

If you have not chosen keywords, you can configure this option after the search box has been installed. Click the 'Continue' button at the bottom of the page.

4. Pick the 'Look and Feel' of the search box by selecting the radio button next to the search box that has the desired appearance for your site and select the 'Continue' button. The next page allows you to pick if the search results will open on the same page or new window when users use the search box. Make any desired changes, enter your URL (uniform resource locator) for your website in the 'Open results at this URL' and select the 'Continue' button at the bottom.

5. Acknowledge Google's Terms of Service by selecting the radio button next to the terms of service field. Then enter a name for the search box and select the 'Submit and Get Code' menu button.

6. Copy the HTML code displayed on the next screen and insert on the primary web page of your site. If you are using a tool for your website creation, then you can insert the code by pasting it between the body tags of the index page. After you update the code of the site, it will be searchable using the Google Search tool by site viewers.

Internet Money

Adsense

Search engine giant Google offers an advertising program called Google Adsense, which allows website owners to have advertising displayed on their Web pages. This is one of the quickest and simplest ways to begin earning money from the Internet. After enrolling in the program and setting up the ad banner style you like, Google gives you a snippet of code to embed where you want your ads to appear. Even if you're not particularly Web savvy, don't worry. Google will walk you through the process. The money-making part of the endeavor occurs when a visitor to your site clicks on one of the ads, which are fed selectively by Google based on your content. Each click generates anywhere from a few cents to a dollar or more that goes into your account.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing allows an Internet entrepreneur to begin earning money selling someone else's product, and it works even if you don't have your own website. Say someone has written an e-book about how to save big money on airfare. The author offers a cut of the cover price, sometimes as high as 75 percent, for any sales generated by an affiliate. Sales are traced by a special identifying link placed in your marketing efforts. If you have a website, great. Use it. If not, you can buy ads on major search engines, place ads in online newsletters or create an article marketing campaign to generate sales.

Information Products

Creating your own information product to sell puts you one step up the Internet marketing hierarchy. Now instead of being the affiliate selling another person's product, sell your own and recruit your own army of affiliates to help market your product. To build brand awareness, focus on a niche you have knowledge about, and create a line of information products addressing frequent concerns that arise in that subject area.

Online Auctions

The first well-known auction website was eBay, which still enjoys unparallelled popularity, though many competitors are in the field now. Online auctions allow you to sell affiliate products, information products or even stuff from around the house you don't want anymore. As they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure, and nowhere has this adage been more confirmed than on these auction sites. Most sites allow you to get started selling without any cost to yourself. A small percentage of every sale goes back to the auction site.
