How to Make Annotations on YouTube to Link to Higher Quality
1. Start your Web browser, navigate to youtube.com and log in to your account.
2. Click your account name at the top of the page, and then click 'Videos.' A list of your uploaded videos appears.
3. Click the thumbnail of the higher-quality version of the video that you uploaded, to start playing it. Click the word 'Share' below the video. The video's URL appears in the 'Link to This Video' box. Right-click the video's URL, then click 'Copy' from the pop-up menu.
4. Click your account name, and then click 'Videos.' Click the triangle below the thumbnail of the lower-quality video to which you want to add an annotation, and then click 'Annotations.' The video's annotation editor opens.
5. Click the 'Add Annotation' pull-down menu, and then click 'Note.' A text box appears on the video. Type a message, such as 'Please click here for a higher-quality version of this video.'
6. Click the 'Link' check box on the right side of the screen to select it. Right-click in the text box below the word 'Link,' and then click 'Paste' from the pop-up menu to paste the link you copied from the higher-quality video. The text of your link appears in the timeline below the video.
7. Click the right or left edge of the text of your annotation in the video's timeline and drag it if you want to change the start and end time of its appearance in the video. The timeline starts at '0' on the left side, and continues to the ending number on the right side.
8. Click the 'Publish' link to save the annotation that links the video to a higher-quality version of the video.
