How to Allow Access Into AdSense Reports

1. Link your Google AdSense account to a Google Analytics account. Look for the link inviting you to connect the two accounts on either the Overview or Advanced Reports pages in your AdSense account.

2. Click on 'User Manager' from your Analytics account Web page. Select 'Add a User.' Enter the information required to create a profile that can view accounts only. Select at least one Web page profile to identify the new account with.

3. Click 'Edit AdSense Linking Settings,' found on the Overview page next to the name of the profile. Follow the instructions on the 'AdSense Linking Settings' page to provide access to AdSense reports through the profile you created. Does Google Offer CPM Ads?

Google CPM Ads

The cost per impression (CPM) is quoted for 1,000 ad impressions, meaning that advertisers pay the stated amount for the ad to be displayed 1,000 times across Google's services. Google does not display these ads in search results, but they can appear on Google's Display Network. The Network includes Google properties such as YouTube, Google Maps and Gmail, as well as numerous partner websites and AdSense users.

Creating Google CPM Ads

Anyone can sign up for a Google AdWords account and use it to create CPM ads. After signing into your account, create a new ad campaign and select 'Display Network' as the only network in the Networks and Devices section. Make sure the search network is disabled. Enable the advanced options in the Bidding and Budget settings, and choose the CPM rate option.

Monitoring Google CPM Ads

Google provides tools to help you monitor your ad campaigns and maximize their efficiency. Google tracks how often your ad is displayed and clicked, and it can track how often clicks translate into purchases or other desired actions, which are called conversions. Google displays that information on your AdWords dashboard. You can use the data to see how the amount you bid for your CPM ads and other factors impact where and how often your ads are displayed, allowing you to make improvements to the ads as needed.

Competing With Google CPC Ads

Google also allows advertisers to pay only when ads are clicked on. These CPC ads compete with CPM ads to appear in Google's services. Based on the number of times a CPC ad was displayed and clicked on, Google calculates an effective CPM rate for it. When two ads are competing for the same space, Google displays the most expensive ad. Because CPM ads often take the place of multiple CPC ads, CPM ads must beat the value of all the CPC ads that would have appeared for Google to display them.

How to Build Turnkey AdSense Websites

1. Sign up for a Google AdSense account at www.google.com/adsense. The sign-up process is fairly simple and, as long as everything is good with your application, you should get approval within a few days.

2. Sign up for a simple web hosting service. Make sure that the host you choose has simple web templates available, or you can also subscribe to a service that will provide you with pre-designed templates for your turnkey AdSense website.

3. Decide on a web template that will work best with a content-heavy website. The best turnkey template will have a white background with little to no images.

4. Choose a general product or service that you want to advertise, such as televisions or books.

5. Write interesting web content about a specific type of product under the general category you chose. For example, if you're writing about TVs, you might want to talk about flat screen TVs on one page. The content needs to be informative, well-written and interesting to readers. There should be at least 350 words on each page. The content also must be written with SEO in mind. Go to SEOmoz.org to learn how to optimize your site in this way.

6. Copy and paste the content into the web template that you chose in step three.

7. Install Google AdSense code on your turnkey website. Most turnkey sites have the AdSense ads listed on the left or right side of the page or falling within the text. Some also include banner ads on the bottom of the page or along the edges of the text. Google AdSense automatically updates the ads depending on the content on your page.

8. Create additional pages on the same website with the same format that focus on other more specific products under the general topic to form your turnkey AdSense website.

How to Change the Default Background and Text Colors on Web Pages

5. Click Colors.

7. Click the Text button to bring up a color chart.

8. Choose the color you want and click OK.

9. Click the box next to Background and use the same procedure to change that color.

Yahoo! Equivalent to AdSense

Publisher Network

The Publisher Network was developed as a beta system, and Yahoo! never progressed to a wider adoption of the network before it was discontinued. The network was an invitation-only program that involved Yahoo! reaching out to publishers that it viewed as a good fit for the network. Publishers were paid a percentage of the revenue that Yahoo! earned on the display ads that ran on their websites.

AdSense

Google AdSense helps provide display advertising for websites, matching up ads that are natural fits in terms of theme, content and product with the content of the sites. AdSense pays publishers based on the number of either clicks or impressions that the ads receive on their sites. AdSense is free for publishers to join. AdSense even allows publishers to post ads with their search results and RSS feeds.

Chitika

When Yahoo! ended the Publisher Network, it recommended that the publishers enrolled in the network transfer their accounts to Chitika, an advertising network that syndicated Yahoo! Content Match and Sponsored Search products, allowing for a relatively easy transition, according to media news website Paid Content, a subsidiary of Guardian News and Media Limited. Chitika worked with Yahoo! to develop a process designed for Publisher Network clients to make the move to Chitika. Like Google AdSense, Chitika can arrange for display ads to appear on sites with different users, depending on the search queries that bring the users to each site.

Yahoo! Network Plus

Yahoo! Network Plus is Yahoo!'s online targeted advertising network that places advertising on a group of large sites, such as the various Yahoo! sites and other sites with high traffic numbers. Yahoo! has a variety of agreements with partner sites in Yahoo! Network Plus that provide different options for payment for hosting advertising. Just as the Yahoo! Network Plus works with large content publishers, it also works with large advertisers.
