The Best Templates for AdSense With WordPress
ProSense Theme
The ProSense theme was released in May of 2007 and is available for download at no cost to the user. ProSense is available in three colors: beige, blue and gray. By default, there are three columns: a body section and two sidebars to the right of the body. This theme is popular with AdSense members because of three main factors: fast performance, flexibility and ease of use. The fast loading times are due to the minimal file size of the entire page; the web browser has less to download and thus displays the page quickly. ProSense is flexible because of its overall layout. Premium themes that carry a high price tag are expected to have a widget or option for every single bell and whistle possible. All of those features tax the loading time of the page. Since ProSense is free, its users aren't looking for those elaborate features -- performance is what they want. ProSense is great for AdSense because it is extremely simple to add any kind of AdSense ad virtually anywhere on the page. The theme has a set of templates that are made for every type and size ad that AdSense offers. All the user has to do is copy and paste her AdSense code into the correct one.
StudioPress Pro Plus Package Theme
The Pro Plus Package Theme from StudioPress is what's known as a 'premium' theme. The main differences between premium and non-premium are price and features. The Pro Plus Theme is extremely flexible and gives the user the ability to create a truly unique design with her blog. The features enable the blog owner to easily implement content of any kind without spending hours trying to get it just right. At a price tag of almost $300, it can pay for itself rather quickly when using AdSense in combination with it. Much like ProSense, it allows easy implementation of any type of AdSense ad, but with ProSense the user has to manually edit raw HTML code to change the ads; with Pro Plus the ads can be edited inside the Wordpress Dashboard directly. This flexibility and ease of use contribute to getting better conversions on the user's AdSense ads.
The Cutline Theme
The Cutline theme for Wordpress is also regarded as a great platform for AdSense users. The different versions, such as black-and-white and three column, give it enough flexibility for the user to create her own unique blog design. Bloggers who use Cutline have found it to be highly optimized for search engines, more so than even ProSense sometimes. The exact reason is not clear but it is likely do to the quick loading times in combination with the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) codes that are used. Instead of using mostly HTML tables to design the theme's layout, CSS makes up the bulk of the design parameters, and CSS is faster.
Unsupported Conclusions
Anyone who has used AdSense on their blog knows that the only way to make a lot of money with it is to have a large amount of traffic, and the traffic should be relevant and targeted. Newcomers who start a Wordpress blog and then work hard at promoting it for two or three months get frustrated and sometimes blame their negative results on the theme they are using. A good performing theme like ProSense is an easy scapegoat because it is free and popular among spammers. Remember that a theme is just a design. A blog with the most expensive theme in the world but no traffic will not make a cent; the traffic must be part of the mix for the blog to make money.
