How to Keep CPCs Down on Facebook
1. Determine whether the Facebook audience would be good for your product or service. The website now encompasses a vast array of people, rather than just college students as it did before.
2. Discuss your goals and advertising model with Facebook. You may want to work with a search engine or a specific website that may be more closely related to your product.
3. Ask for the advertising plans they offer. Suggest that they show you some statistics and client examples from each if they haven't already. According to Facebook Ads, you can 'set the daily budget you are comfortable with [and] adjust your daily budget at anytime.'
4. Opt for a flat-rate plan initially if you think it will be more cost-effective. You'll only pay based on actual clicks or number of people that go to your ad or website.
5. Explore the bid-based variety if you see a possible advantage. If your product is of the niche variety with few competitors, this may be a better option. If several other companies will be placing similar ads on Facebook and you're working with a smaller budget, this would be the lesser of the two options.
6. Make your offer and set up the payment and advertising model. Check your traffic levels after the ad has been implemented to find out its effectiveness.

How to Make Money From Creating Your Own Website
1. Decide a topic for your website. To make money with your website, focus on a particular topic, or niche. Your website has to provide information for people that they can't find anywhere else. At the very least, it must provide information that few other websites offer so you won't have too much competition.
2. Find a domain name. This is what people type into the address bar of their browser to visit your site. For instance, you may have typed eHow.com into Internet Explorer to get to this page, because eHow is the domain name. Your domain name should have some type of connection to your website's topic so people have an idea of what to expect when they hear or see it. Next, register it. You can do this for a small annual or monthly fee, depending on the company you use.
3. Find a host. A simple online search will yield numerous hosting services. Most of them charge a monthly fee based on your bandwidth and the amount of space you use. Other hosting companies, like Google, offer free hosting for basic websites.
4. Design your website to attract people to the products or services you offer. If your website is mainly a blog, make it easy to read and pleasing to the eye. Flashing ads and neon colors are hard on the eyes and will cause people to click away in a matter of seconds. But a well-organized, viewer-friendly website will keep people looking and clicking around your website to see what it's all about.
5. Post products or services relating to your topic. Your website can be anything you want it to be, but you won't make money from it unless you offer products, services or advertising related to your topic. If you have a website about wrestling, find affiliate programs and advertisers related to wrestling. If you have a website that reviews your favorite movies, find ways to sell DVDs and movie-related merchandise that will generate income.
6. Generate traffic. Traffic is the lifeblood of a money-making website. If nobody visits your site, it won't generate any income because advertisers won't see the need to place ads on your website and nobody will be buying the products or services you offer. Market your website by visiting relevant online forums and chat rooms. Visit websites that are like yours and leave comments with links to your website. Ask other website owners if they would like to enter into an agreement in which you help promote each other's websites through trackbacks and other methods.
7. Add advertising to your website. Google AdSense is one of the most common and utilized methods for creating income through your own website. When you have an AdSense account, Google places ads on your website and you can configure the appearance and placement of the ads. Once your website becomes popular, search for other advertisers that are willing to place their relevant ads on your website to create an entirely different stream of income.

How to Make a Website for Google AdSense
1. Create a website plan. With a word processor, or simply pen and paper, write down the main information pages or topics that your website will cover. To help optimize your website for ad revenue, you can research keywords using Google's keyword research tool. The keyword research tool will tell you what topics are valuable based on number of searches and cost per click information. Focus on keywords with comparatively high search volume and cost per click in order to help maximize your ad revenue.
2. Produce content for your website. Explore producing images, audio, video and text articles. Using your website plan and the keywords you came up with, produce content centered around the most valuable keywords you identified. Select content types that will be best suited for conveying your information. For example, an information-dense technical topic may be suited to text articles, while a visual topic may be better presented using images or videos.
3. Make your website. There are two approaches to making a website: content management systems, such as WordPress, and hand-coding. Hand-coding offer greater flexibility, but is a technically involved approach. Content management systems are not as flexible as hand-coding, but typically offer an easy-to-use interface for making website pages. In the hand-coded approach, you'll need to enter HTML code for your website pages in a text editor, such as Notepad. With a content management system, you can simply type (or upload) content without having to enter HTML directly.
4. Place AdSense ads on your website pages. Access your AdSense account and build new ad units using the ad unit creation tool within the AdSense interface. With a hand-coded site, you'll need to copy the ad unit code from the AdSense interface and paste the code into your page files. To place ads on pages in a content management system, you may need to first install an AdSense plugin (or add on module) using the content management system control panel. Then, use the plugin to place AdSense ad units into your website pages or posts.
5. Publish your website. With the hand-coded approach, use an FTP utility to transfer your website files to your web hosting service. With a content management system, you can publish pages by simply pressing the 'Publish' button or equivalent on the page control panel.
