Google Advertising Guidelines

AdWords Creative Guidelines

Advertising must use proper grammar and spelling, although commonly misspelled words like 'lite,' and 'tonite' are allowed. Ads cannot make claims regarding competitors, unless these claims are substantiated in the landing page linked from the ad. Comparative and subjective phrases using words like 'best' or '#1' are seldom allowed unless you have third-party verification that your service or product is better than all others. Claims of affiliation with Google are also not allowed in an ad.

Content Guidelines

Both AdWords and AdSense have an extensive list of topics that are not allowed in ads, pages containing ads, including links to other pages or websites with such content. A few examples of inappropriate content include gambling, adult sexual services, tobacco products, alcohol, drugs and drug paraphernalia, the promotion of violence, racial intolerance and illegal activity. Violation of content policies can result in rejection of ads, domains disabled from the advertising programs, account suspension and a lifetime ban for any of your domains from Google's advertising programs.

AdWords Site Guidelines

The displayed web address in an ad must be consistent with the link. Google rates landing pages (the page visitors go to when clicking on an ad) for quality. Landing pages should have original content that is relevant to the ad, be transparent in its purpose, and easily navigable. Landing pages must not use pop-ups that hinder navigation away from the page. Self-closing pop-up pages, pop-under pages, fake system warnings, or timed pop-ups are also prohibited. Visitors must also be able to navigate from the landing page by clicking the browser 'back' button with one click. Pages containing malware are also prohibited.

AdSense Site Guidelines

Web pages using Google AdSense must not encourage visitors to click on ads. This includes offering special incentives to visitors or using deceptive methods to get clicks like using arrows pointing to ads. Webpages cannot contain content protected by copyright unless the publisher has the legal right to do so. Publishers cannot use paid-to-click programs for their websites, or use spam emails to get traffic to their sites. AdSense code cannot be altered. Ads cannot be placed in inappropriate places like pop-ups. Publishers must also provide privacy and disclosure information to visitors regarding the use of advertising cookies placed in visitors' browsers.

How to Increase the Maximum YouTube Video Length

1. Open your browser and go to youtube.com/partners.

2. Click 'Qualifications and FAQ' to review the list of qualifications. You must create your own original content or have permission from the content copyright holder to post their original content. You must create videos that meet the YouTube Community Guidelines and adhere to the Terms of Service. You must publish original YouTube videos that are popular, or publish commercially successful videos through other media.

3. Click 'Apply Now' to bring up the application form. You will need to supply your personal information such as your name, location, your experience and position in your industry, whether you want to monetize your videos with ads and information on the length and number of videos you expect to upload. You can also provide extra information that you think is relevant at the box on the bottom of the page.

4. Click 'Review Application' to submit the form.

How to Make Money Using My PayPal Account

1. Sell products and items on shopping sights like eBay.com and Amazon.com. Link your PayPal account to the shopping site, so that money can be directly deposited into your PayPal account.

2. Join an online-affiliate program like Amazon or Google. Get a monthly commission through the affiliate. Give the program your PayPal email for future deposits.

3. Link the special affiliate code to your blog, website or forum. Gain traffic to your site to draw more attention to your affiliate advertisements. The more clicks you have on the affiliate banners, the more money you make.

4. Market affiliate products through your blog or forum. Affiliate sites issue payments for different roles. Some even pay for recruitment.

5. Find online sites that offer paid surveys. Research all sites that you attach to your PayPal account because not all websites are legitimate. Connect your PayPal email to the survey account once you have researched it.

6. Find writing jobs online. Choose sites that offer PayPal as a means of payment because these are the credible sites.

How to Build an e

Become an Affiliate

1. Become an affiliate. Most websites now use Google's AdSense and Amazon to make money. Sign up with Amazon's affiliate program, as well as Google's AdSense.

2. Select the type of Amazon products that you wish to sell on your website. If you have a site specializing in selling books, then it is best to not use banner ads advertising DVDs---unless they are DVDs of a TV series or movie, which was originally famous as a book.

3. Add AdSense ads to your website. AdSense ads are a bit more difficult to control the content of than Amazon banner ads. You can, however, use the 'Competitive Ad Filter' to stop any company which is on a lot of your pages advertising irrelevant content. Google's 'AdSense Preview Tool' will also let you see what ads are coming up on a particular page, even if they are not showing when you view that page. You can then, using this tool, copy the url of a company you don't want advertising on your website, and paste it into the 'Competitive Ad Filter' box and remove their ads that way.

Sell Your Own Items

4. Use the numerous free e-commerce programs to create a store selling your own products. Also use PayPal buttons on your site. You can really just have a store made up of PayPal buttons, but you should test them all to see if they are working properly.

5. Test out just a few of your items to begin with, and see what proves to be popular. If you spend too much time putting items up on your store, then you may lose valuable marketing time, which is very important in the early stages of your venture. You may also end up disillusioned pretty quickly if you don't get very good results after a lot of hard work. Take things slowly, and tweak things wherever necessary.

6. Advertise your products and website on social networking sites for free. Advertising can be very expensive for a small business, so social networking sites are a great, and free, alternative to traditional advertising.

How to Turn Off Infolinks

1. Access your website's HTML code. There is no single way to access HTML code; it all depends on what software you use to manage your website. User-friendly website-building software allows you to drag and drop website components, but you should notice a 'Source Code' or 'HTML' button somewhere on the screen to access the raw code.

2. Type '

' into the code, removing the quotation marks. HTML code is sequential. In other words, the website reads the code from left to right and top to bottom as it loads. If you want to disable Infolinks for the entire page, place the code at the top of the code. To turn off Infolinks for a certain section of code, place it just before that section, followed by '

' after the section is over.

3. Save your changes and exit the website editor. In most website editors, you save changes by clicking 'File' and 'Save' or by clicking 'Upload to Internet.' Once you've saved your changes, Infolinks will no longer appear on your website.

How to Tighten Pores

1. First, you will need to have about a cup of oatmeal. Grind it up in a blender or food processor. It shouldn't take very long at all. Make sure it is ground up finely.

2. After that you will need about half a cup of hot or warm water. Pour your oatmeal into the water and stir.

3. Let it sit for awhile until it thickens into a paste. After it thickens enough apply it your face. You can apply it all over or in trouble spots around your face. Let it dry completely. Rinse with warm water and there ya go! Instantly awesome skin.

How to Add Google AdSense to Joomla

Create a Google AdSense account

1. Navigate to the Google AdSense application page (see Resources). Enter your website URL, making sure that the address is the primary domain.

2. Choose a language. Agree to not run ads that include incentives to click them or pornographic content by clicking on the two corresponding check boxes. Select an account type, whether business or individual, and your country or territory.

3. Enter your name or your business name, which should match the name on the bank account you'll use. If using a business account, enter a contact name corresponding to the address you enter below it. Enter a telephone number.

4. Click four required check boxes: agreeing that the payee name you entered can receive checks, agreeing that you will not click your own AdSense ads, certifying that you've read the program policies and certifying that you do not already have an approved AdSense account. There is an optional box you can check to receive or limit periodic newsletters. Answer how you found out about AdSense from the drop-down menu.

5. Click 'Submit Information' at the bottom of the application and check the information you entered on the next page. Choose to use an existing Google account or create a new log-in and click 'Continue.' You'll have to wait one or two days while Google reviews your application.

Download and Install the Add-on

6. Choose an AdSense Add-on from Joomla's extension search (see Resources). As of August 2010, high-rated options compatible with Joomla 1.5 include 'Phoca Google AdSense Easy,' 'CB Adsense Plugin with Revenue Sharing,' 'GoogleAds plugin,' 'Adsense Inserter' and 'Google Adsense SiteSearch for Joomla 1.5.'

7. Download the add-on by clicking the link in the search list and clicking 'Download' on the resulting page. The download should start automatically. If it doesn't, click the link corresponding to the version of Joomla you're using, 1.0 or 1.5. Save the file.

8. Log on as an administrator to your Joomla site. Under 'Extensions' click 'Install/Uninstall.' In the box for 'Package File,' browse for the add-on you just downloaded. Click 'Upload File & Install.'

9. Navigate 'Module Manager' or 'Plugin Manager' depending on the type of add-on you installed under the 'Extensions' drop-down menu. Open the new add-on.

Link the Add-on to Google

10. Log on to your Google AdSense account. Click the 'AdSense Setup' tab and click 'AdSense for Content.'

11. Click 'Single Page' and scroll down to the box titled 'Your AdSense code.' Look for the line that starts with 'google_ad_client =' and copy the string of numbers that follows, including 'pub-' but excluding the quotation marks.

12. Go back to your Joomla add-on and scroll down until you see the box for 'Publisher ID.' Paste the publisher ID you copied from your AdSense account.

13. Modify the add-on within Joomla. Depending on the type of add-on you downloaded, you can change the layout, placement, colors and text of the ads that will appear on your website.

14. Save the add-on. Load your website to make sure the changes you made are reflected where appropriate.
