How to Make a Website for Arcade Games

1. Pick a web host service (see Resources). You can pay yearly for a service or choose a free service. The advantage to paying for a web host service is the amount of storage space you'll be provided. If you plan to use a lot of graphics and media files, they will take up a lot of space. Opt for the paid web hosting. Free services don't offer much space. Also, if you want to have advertising on your web site that brings money to you, opt to pay for web hosting. Free web hosting often includes advertising on your website that goes to the web hosting service.

2. Design your arcade game website. Since you're making an arcade game website, make it fun and flashy like a real arcade. Use colorful backgrounds and graphics. Don't be afraid to include animated graphics and blinking text. This will add to the arcade feel of your website and make it more attractive for arcade enthusiasts. Embed a free arcade sound file on your website for additional authentic arcade feel.

3. Use the built-in design and upload tools provided by your web host to develop your website and upload the files you'll need. Create an easy menu with simple game categories. Create a section of the website devoted to articles about the history of arcade games, tips on playing arcade games and reviews of arcade games. Devote the rest of the sections of the website to games. Include a section specifically devoted to early classic arcade games like 'Donkey Kong' and 'Pac-Man.'

4. Embed a wide variety of arcade-style games on your website. There are free resources for games you can easily embed on your website. You can easily embed these games in your website by copying and pasting the code to your web pages. The games are made using Adobe Flash, Shockwave and Java code. Include links to the Adobe Flash and Shockwave players on your web site in case you have visitors that need to download them before playing games on your arcade website.

5. Use Google Ads to generate income from your website. When you sign up for an Adsense account, Google places content relevant advertising on your website that generates money for you when visitors click on ads. It's free to start a Google Adsense account.

How to Activate Google Adsense

1. Design and construct the website you want to include in the Google Adsense program. Be sure your website falls within Google's published criteria for websites.

2. Sign up and submit your website to Google Adsense program. Once you website is approved, you will receive a notification allowing you to proceed with the program.

How to Add Pay Per Click Advertising to a Blog

1. The most popular pay per click model is Google AdSense. Signing up is free. Google matches ads based on your blog's content. This is the most common model used for internet advertising.

2. If you use Google AdSense, there are a few tricks you need to be aware of. You want the ads to blend in with your site, so they don't look like ads, but more like your site's content. Text links often generate more clicks that image ads. You can find all kinds of tips by visiting the Google AdSense blog.

3. Sign up for BidVertiser. This is the same concept as Google AdSense. You sing up as a publisher and ads from advertisers are matched to your site. You are paid based on clicks.

4. Sign up for free affiliate programs like Commission Junction and LinkShare. These sites pay you as the publisher for leads or sign-ups. Leads can pay anywhere from a few cents to $20 or more.

5. Visit the Pay Per Click forum located at http://forums.digitalpoint.com. You can read or join discussions about different methods of making money from pay per click advertising.

6. See the resources section below for more ways to make money with your blog or working from home.

Google Adsense Tips Tricks

Ad appearance

AdSense ads that display with similar colors and fonts as the rest of the text on the page typically get better click-through rates. Carefully match your ads with your site layout so they blend in.

Ad location

Place your AdSense ad blocks in your content so the text wraps around your ads. Your site visitors are on your page to read the content. By placing your ads within your content you will ensure more visitors see your ads and increase the likelihood that they will click an ad. It's also important to place ad blocks above the fold on your pages so the ads are seen by visitors who don't scroll down the page.

Page targeting

Narrowly define the topic of your pages. Each page should have a very specific subject and that should be reflected by using your primary keyword phrase in your page title, meta keywords tag, meta description tag, H1 tag and within the body of your content. AdSense displays ads based on the subject matter of the page and it uses these elements to determine what the subject of your page is. Clearly defining your page topic will result in accurate and relevant ads being displayed which will lead to higher click-through rates.

Ad block size

Use larger ad blocks like the 336x280 and 300x250 pixel ads. These ad sizes are more noticeable and generally receive more clicks than some of the smaller ad sizes.

Ad tracking

AdSense has built in ad-tracking capability. Pay careful attention to the pages that generate more clicks and higher revenue so you know where to focus your search engine optimization efforts or your advertising dollars.

Eliminate ad borders

Ad borders serve as a warning to site visitors that the content is an advertisement. Remove the borders around your AdSense ads to more smoothly blend the ads with the content of your website.

How to Earn Money With Google Adsense

1. Apply for a Google Adsense account. Google will respond to you within a few business days to advise you if you are eligible for an account. Google looks for a well-organized site that's not a duplicate of other websites and may make a decision about the website based on the contents. Read Google's terms of service for Adsense accounts to determine whether or not your site may qualify.

2. Add Google Adsense to your website or blog. Many sites are Adsense-ready and are activated by inputting your publisher ID (a unique number Google will give you upon approval) and choosing the type of display you want for your targeted advertising. If you don't know how to add the code to your website or blog, you can often refer to help files with Google or your Web host, or you may need a technical expert to help. Relevant advertising will appear on your site, and if your visitors click on the advertisements, you will earn commission based on a Google formula that is not publicized. Many factors will impact the amount you earn, such as what happened after the visitor clicked on the ad, the amount the ad was worth (some advertisers pay higher ad fees, which results in a higher commission to the publisher) and other factors Google does not disclose.

3. Drive traffic to your website or blog so that more people have an opportunity to see the targeted advertisements. You earn money based on not only clicked ads but also the number of page views. The more traffic, the more likely you are to see revenue. Writing good content can bring targeted advertisements that can, on their own, entice a visitor to click.

4. Input your pin number when your account reaches $50. When Google sees that your account has reached the $50 earning mark, they will mail, via postal mail, a pin number to you that you must input into their system via directions included with the pin. This assures Google that you are the person you say you are via receiving a physical letter in the mail. This action activates your account to be ready for payment.

5. Receive payment when your account reaches $100 in Adsense earnings. Each time your account hits the $100 milestone, Google will initiate their payment cycle. Payments can be received via electronic funds transfer or via a check sent to you through the mail.

How to Place an Ad on Google

1. Click on the 'Sign Up For Google AdWords' link in the Resources section of this article.

2. Click on the 'Create a New Account' button.

3. Enter your account details, including a valid email address. Choose a password and click 'Create Account.'

4. Select your country of residence, time zone and preferred payment currency from the appropriate drop down menus. Click 'Continue.'

5. Wait for AdWords to send an email message to the address you provided during registration. When this email arrives, verify the address by clicking on the link within the message.

6. A new Web page or browser tab will open, telling you that your email address has been confirmed. Click the link the says 'Click here to continue.'

7. Click 'Create your first campaign.'

8. Enter the details for your campaign (the campaign is the ad or ads you wish to place). Choose a name for the campaign and tell AdWords which countries and regions in which you would like your ad to appear.

9. Confirm that 'All available sites and devices' is selected under the 'Networks, devices and extensions' option. This setting is the default setting and should be changed only by advanced users.

10. Set a daily budget by entering a whole dollar amount in the appropriate text box. Select whether you'd like to pay a set price (bid) when someone clicks on your ad, or whether you'd like AdWords to try to automatically determine the best price (bid) for your ad.

11. Create an ad. Google AdWords ads are made up of: A headline, two lines of text, a display URL (short version) and an actual URL (full version).

12. Select 10-20 keywords that are specifically related to your ad.

13. Click 'Save and Continue to Billing.'

14. Select the country where your billing address is located from the drop down menu and click 'Continue.'

15. Choose your billing method. 'Postpay billing' charges your credit card or bank account once ads are run and clicked on, while 'Prepay billing' charges your credit card and creates an AdWords balance to be used to pay for your ads. There is no particular advantage to either method, so choose the one works best for you and click 'Continue.'

16. Read the Google AdWords Terms and Conditions. If you understand and agree to them, click 'yes, I agree,' and then 'Continue.'

17. Enter your credit card or bank account information, then click 'Save and Activate.' Your AdWords account is now active, and the ad you created will begin running on the network as soon as it is approved.
