How to Earn Money With Google Analytics

1. Monitor a website's performance. Apply Google Analytics software and immediately start tracking the specific traffic on your site. Re-inventing your site is re-inventing your online business; it can earn you dollars.

2. Use Google Analytics on Google Adwords and Adsense. These stand-alone elements of a search engine use keyword-specific patterns to attract web traffic; using Google Analytics can make them more effective. The combination of the targeted ads with truly accurate tracking tools is a powerful one for calculating admakers.

3. Compare keyword campaigns. Many sites are using keyword driven SEO (search engine optimization) articles. They have writers and servers: what they may not have is a way to evaluate their campaigns. Google Analytics fills this gap and helps operators improve for bigger earnings.

4. Use Geotargeting for web traffic demographics. Specific features of Google Analytics help users find out where their audience is coming from. Knowing who is browsing your site helps business owners envision future changes to focus on the right groups.

5. Use time-based trend models to evaluate web use over time. Another special feature of Google Analytics is chronological charts that will show dynamically what is happening on a site or campaign over time. This helps users think about how to get that graph to spike using creativity and known data.

How to Maximize Sponsorship Revenue

1. Create a list of corporations and individuals that could have an interest in your cause. Maintaining and adding to this list should be a priority. Enter all perspective sponsors into a database management system. There are many different donor management software applications on the market that not only allow you to manage resources, but provide many tools for marketing to donors. (See Resources)

2. Develop a cause marketing campaign. Define your cause, program or project needs and benefits of sponsorship in a clear and simple statement. Design a method to deliver your message and sponsorship request. Methods of delivery can include an online promotion or donation tables set up within organizations with which you form strategic partnerships.

3. Plan events for the public and offer sponsors advertising space. Events that promote maximum visibility include 5K, half-marathons or marathons, festivals or professional conferences. Event planning should include an analysis of your audience, an event committee and volunteers, a timeline, budget, publicity plan and sponsorship proposal literature. Information should be in print and online and can include letters to key sponsors, posters, brochures for the public and informative web pages.

4. Set sponsorship levels. Sponsorship levels are like tiers that provide a framework for donations. Create a wide range of sponsorship levels so that individuals as well as large corporations have options to donate. Sponsorship levels should be priced according to the benefits offered at each level. For example, sponsorship levels can begin as low as $1-$100 to sponsor one child in a summer program and as high as $100,000 to sponsor a summer program that serves at-risk children throughout the city.

How to Stop Audio Advertising From Google

1. Locate an ad blocker utility online. Many are available for free (See References 1 and 2). Some may only support a particular Web browser. Firefox is a common free Web browser that offers considerable customization and extensions. Some ad blocking utilities are only available for Firfefox users.

2. Download or install the ad blocker utility. Some utilities will install directly from the provider's Web page without need for a separate file download. This is often the case for Firefox extensions. Other may require you download an installation program and run it separately to complete the process.

3. Restart the Web browser. Often a utility does not activate until the browser is completely closed and opened again. This completes the utility's installation and adds it to the browser's operating environment.

4. Surf the Web. You will notice that audio advertising from Google is blocked.

How to Trace an Originating IP

1. Locate the header information in the email you wish to trace. This will look like a confusing mass of undecipherable text, easily distinguishable from the easy-to-read body of the email, but will end with something like 'Content-transfer-encoding ...' You will probably have to enable viewing this information, but the procedure for this differs between programs and services. For example, in Gmail, you click the arrow by 'reply' and select 'show original.' In Yahoo, you click 'actions' and then 'few full headers.' In Outlook, you click 'internet headers' in the 'message options' window.

2. Copy the headers by selecting the text and pressing CTRL + C. If you select too much, that is alright; most look-up tools will ignore anything extra. In fact, you could press CTRL + A to select everything and then CTRL + C to copy it all, and it will still work in most trace tools.

3. Visit a trace tool site such as Find-IP-Address, What Is My IP Address or IP Address Location.

4. Paste the copied header information into the rectangular box on the tool page. You may also need to enter the 'captcha' security text to verify you are a real person. Press enter or submit. The tool will display the textual and/or visual location of the originator's IP.

Google Adsense FAQ

What Counts As a Click?

AdSense users can sign up for either cost per click (CPC) or cost per thousand impressions (CPM) advertisements. CPC ads pay whenever a user clicks on them, passing through to the advertiser's webpage. CPM ads pay when shown on your site, whether or not the user clicks through. In general, CPM ads pay significantly less per thousand impressions than CPC ads. Some users prefer them because they don't require visitors to engage in an action, however.

Where Are Ads Displayed?

Members of AdSense choose the location for ad display, enabling them to integrate the service with their site design. According to Google, some locations are more common, since users spend more time looking at that area of the site. However, placing an ad in these areas, where users normally expect to see content, can cause navigation problems or irritate visitors. Most ads are placed on the left or right hand side of the page, above or below the navigation bar, or directly above the page footer. Unobtrusive ads usually receive better visitor approval, but tend to get fewer clicks. Advertisers often pay more for better positioning on a page.

Can Site Owners Filter Ads?

Not all advertisements shown through AdSense are appropriate for all websites. For instance, ads offering diet plans may be offensive on an eating disorder support site. Users can use the competitive ad filter tool and the ad review center to keep offensive or inappropriate ads off their websites. The competitive ad filter helps AdSense users manage a list of advertisers whose ads aren't permitted on their site, while the ad review center allows users to prevent placement-targeted ads from appearing, either by advertiser or by group.

How Does Google Choose Which Ads to Display?

Google AdSense is meant to display ads relevant to the site content and the interests of site visitors. It uses contextual and placement targeting to accomplish this, as well as advertising to visitors based on their interests. Contextual targeting is based on the keywords, structure and link style of a given page. This technique does produce some false positives, however, such as advertisements for credit cards on debt reduction pages. Placement targeting allows advertisers to choose specific sites and locations for their ads, introducing a human element, while interest-based advertising uses information from visitors' computers and previous behaviors to determine what ads to show them.
