How to Calculate Ecpm

1. Determine the number of impressions, or number of times the ad was shown. For example, over the past year the advertisement may have been viewed 10,000 times.

2. Determine the amount of earnings the ad made. For example, over the past year, an ad may have brought in $50 of revenue.

3. Divide the number of total earnings by the number of impressions and multiply it by 1,000. The sum is the effective cost per thousand. In this example, divide 50 by 10,000 and then multiple by 1,000 to get $5. Five dollars is your effective cost per million.

How to Make Money With Free Content Websites

1. Establish a niche target market you plan to serve (selling business e-books, for example). The websites must offer a professional look with easy navigation; making significant money with free content websites is not easy with a poorly designed site. Also, use keywords Internet surfers will likely type to find your website; these keywords may help determine the kinds of ads that will appear.

2. Obtain the quality content required for the selected niche. Each website with free content must have a focus (education or money matters, for example). Purchase articles online that relate to your topics, or create the content materials yourself. Keep the text free of spelling errors and easy to read. If necessary, have an SEO copywriter review the articles for keyword phrases to attract more strategic traffic from search engines to make money with free content.

3. Incorporate advertising options that can gain residual income over time, such as contextual ads. For example, contextual ads offer links that pop up based on hovering above certain keyword phrases. Free to set up, these options generate payouts once you reach a certain threshold. To get started, register for an account online and provide some details about your website.

4. Try pay-per-click ads to gain a share of the money from each time a user clicks on an advertisement---a popular option for many websites due to the ease of setting up the ads and placing them between free content on websites. You can establish an account for free within minutes of registering. Google, a popular option, provides analytics reports.

5. Register for commission-based affiliate programs to earn more money with free-content websites. Affiliate programs come from companies or individuals that sell a product or service and will give you a fee for a referral lead. Sometimes, the registered account holder receives payment for views or per click. Typically, these programs are e-books or programs that complement the content on your website. For example, if you focus on college students, your site can provide a book that covers how to get an internship. Look for these affiliate opportunities with large companies, such as Best Buy or Amazon. Though free to open, these accounts but may require approval before inclusion to see how well your website fits the parent company's target market.

How to Work From Home and Become a Google Quality Rater

1.

Apply:

I have included the link in my resources section below. You will need a cover letter and resume. In addition, Google asks that you possess a four year college degree, and have some writing experience. However, I know people who have gotten hired without a college degree. You will also be asked to take an easy test. When you apply, expect to wait a few weeks for a response. Google hires in cycles, so be patient. Pay ranges from $10-$20/hour, and you must work at least ten (10) hours a weeks. However, you can work up to forty hours in the comfort of your own home! If you are fluent in another language, expect an influx of work to come your way from Google.

2.

Sign a disclosure statement:

There is little to no information in regards to becoming an ad rater for Google. This is because Google does not want people discussing the trade secrets of advertising and/or how ads are rated. Rating ads is like a science experiment. Basically ad ratings have to rated in a controlled environment without discussion. You will need to sign a disclosure statement after you accept a position.

3.

Complete Tasks:

You will receive tasks for the week when you log onto your account. Tasks are first- come-first-serve, so be sure to grab your tasks early. Tasks are easy, but tedious. You are also rated for your performance as an employee on a report card. If you are consistent and complete your tasks in a timely matter, you should have no problem.

4.

Get paid weekly:

Google hires an outside agency-Workforce Logic to hire and pay their ad raters. Expect to get paid weekly. If you are looking for a secure way to make money at home, then applying to become a Google Ad Rater may be a good fit.

How to Sell an Online Community

1. Compile reports on traffic, number of monthly users and any income the online community makes. Monthly users and traffic reports can be exported from Google Analytics (see Resources) or any other website traffic tracking system you are using. For income reports, export those from the companies you are utilizing to make money, such as Google AdSense.

2. Calculate the worth of your website by multiplying its annual revenue by three to six. Use your income reports to determine how much you make annually before taxes.

3. List the website on specialized sites such as Flippa and Buy Sell Website (see Resources). A variable fee is charged for both listing and selling the site. Create a standard ad or an auction for the site. Ads must include the URL, revenue figures, visitor totals, a detailed description of where and how you get the revenue and your accepted payment methods. Include any screen caps that back up your revenue and visitor claims.

4. Agree with the buyer on a transition plan, including the transfer of the domain name. Ask for a partial payment, with the remainder paid when you transfer the actual website files to the buyer. Put the files on a CD or DVD and send them to the buyer using a mail service with a tracking number for additional security.

How to Setup CB Storefront

1. Register a CB Storefront account, then purchase one of the templates listed on the site. All of these templates can be previewed on the various sites that offer CB Storefront accounts. Some CB Storefronts can be brought as part of a package, which gives you access to a suite of different templates.

2. Access your account and open your 'Templates' tab. Expand or click the link to take you to the code sample for your template. This code may be HTML, XML, CSS or PHP, depending on the sophistication of the CB Storefront site. Follow any special instructions listed carefully. Highlight the code, which should be in it's own dialog box, then press 'CTRL+C' to copy it.

3. Paste this code into your website's code, either in a stand-alone module or directly into the HTML stylesheet. Upload this by FTP to update your site in real-time. Most modern websites use scripting languages to embed or incorporate external elements into a website design, and the pre-selected code accounts for this with a stand-alone script that refers to the appropriate service providers.
