How to Find the Best Keywords For Your Blog, Website or Article

1. Write down a list of topics you are knowledgeable about. Even if you don't think that skill or knowledge you possess about a particular subject will be profitable, write it down anyway: you'd be surprised to find how many niche topics are in fact huge money-makers.

2. Go to Google Adword's Keyword Tool. You can find a link to it in the resources. Enter your keyword into the box and hit 'Get keyword ideas'.

3. Typically, a long list of keywords will populate. You're going to want to display three columns; everything else you can hide. Using the drop-down menu, make sure that 'Estimated Avg. CPC', 'Advertiser Competition' and 'Global Monthly Search Volume' are all displayed.

4. Click on 'Estimated Avg. CPC'. It will organize the list by highest earning CPC. CPC stands for 'cost-per-click'. By sorting the list by CPC, you can gain a general idea of how much each word is typically worth: i.e. how much the ads listed on your article or website will earn you per advertisement clicked. (Granted, Google and eHow both take a percentage of that money, so you won't exactly get the full amount shown.)

5. Review your keyword's advertiser competition. To do this, simply mouseover the green/teal bar next to your keyword, and a ranking will pop up. The rankings can vary from 'no advertiser competition' all the way to 'very high advertiser competition'. The best keywords are those who are rated as having anything at or above a high advertiser competition. This means that lots of advertisers are competing for this word, meaning that you will typically have a wealth of high-earning, related ads displayed on your article, website or blog.

6. Lastly, take heed of the global monthly search volume. This will give you some idea of how often people are searching for your word. While many people speak of the importance of making money off of 'niche' topics, don't be afraid of a high search volume: if you advertise your article or website and do proper SEO, you can get to the top of the search engines and -- if you have quality information -- beat out the competition, thus gaining the majority of those ad clicks for yourself. At the same time, however, a high-earning niche topic can definitely be the way to go. At this point, you'd want to size up your competition to decide what is the best route to take.

7. Implement your chosen keywords into your article, website or blog, making sure not to 'over-stuff' them. Whenever using keywords, also make sure that your writing still sounds natural, so as not to alienate readers: it's useless to spend all that time researching keywords only to have no one take the time to read what you've written.

How to Use My Computer to Make Money for Free

Start Monetized Blog

1. Research interesting topics you find interesting. Your topic should also be something of widespread interest: celebrity gossip, home business ideas, home décor, fashion and more. However, you can turn virtually any topic into a successful blog. Some even create blogs dedicated to particular television shows. Find something that interests you.

2. Set up a blog using one of the free blog creation sites like Wordpress or Blogger. You simply set up an account, enter your email address, a user name and password. You can easily choose the layout and appearance of your blog and create posts by merely typing words and hitting the 'Publish' button on your blog dashboard.

3. Get a Google Adsense account and link to your blog. To do this, go to the Google website and click on the 'Adsense' option under the 'More' heading at the top of the page. You will need to choose a user name and password. Once your account is set up, you will need to submit the web address for your site to Google for review. If Google approves your ads, you will receive an email with specific instructions for linking your Adsense account to your blog. Usually this step consists of entering a specific Google-provided code into the 'html' setting. Whenever a vistor comes to your site and clicks on one of the Google ads, you will receive a specific dollar amount that varies per advertisement.

Write On-line Content

4. Research on-line companies that purchase on-line content. Some of the most popular purchasers of on-line content are Associated Content, Demand Studios, Info Barrel, Hub Pages, Helium and FireHow. Some of these sites will provide upfront payments for content submissions, while others will pay depending on how much traffic your content receives.

5. Set up an account with one or two of the on-line content purchasing platforms you researched in Step one. Some on-line content purchasers like Demand Studios require their writers to apply for a position and be accepted before they can receive payment for submissions. Others will let you set up an account, so you simply enter your email address, an account user name and password.

6. Create on-line content. Write articles, reports or short stories on any topic you choose from a list of the content purchaser's available assignments. The more content you create, the more you will make.

Google AdSense Rules

Invalid Clicks and Impressions

Google prohibits any publishers in the AdSense program from manually clicking on their own ads for the sole purpose of increasing ad revenue. This means that publishers can't click on their own ads, encourage others to do so or pay for services that use humans or robots to click on ads for the sole purpose of increasing their revenue. Publishers will not be able to use AdSense on their websites if they engage in invalid practices of this nature.

Prohibited Content--Adult and Gambling

Publishers in the AdSense program must not place AdSense ads on any website with nude photos or videos, adult language, sex toys and products, sexual tips, sexual fetishes or links to any site that has such content. Websites with gambling content, which include those that allow visitors to place bets in exchange for cash or prizes or links to other gambling sites, can't participant in AdSense.

Prohibited Content--Drugs, Violence, Crime and Hate

You can not use AdSense on websites that feature drugs, alcohol, tobacco, legal and illegal prescriptions, drug paraphernalia or herbal drugs. Websites that feature violent and gory content that feature bloodshed, fight scenes and violent accidents can't have AdSense advertising on them. Neither can sites that promote illegal activity such as selling fake IDs, fake passports or Social-Security cards or sites advocating hate groups or exclusion or bias based on race, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

Payment

Google will not issue payment to a publisher until her account has reached a certain payment threshold, which in 2010 was $100. If your account has reached $100 or more at the end of the 30-day billing cycle, Google will pay you by check within 30 days after the billing cycle has ended.

Traffic

Google AdSense discourages the use of traffic-exchange programs and unsolicited emails as a method of increasing traffic to a publisher's website. Although traffic-exchange programs are not prohibited, they are discouraged since they may lead to invalid clicks. Publishers also must not send unsolicited emails (spam) that feature links to sites with AdSense content.

Changing Ads and Prohibited Placement

Publishers may not produce content that is intended to look like Google ads on their website. You must not place Google ads in a floating box which allow ads to hover over a web page, place ads in pop-up windows, enter keywords into IFRAMES to affect ad targeting, put ads into a software application, alter the AdSense code or place ads on a page which produces more than three pop-up windows.

How to Upload Videos on YouTube That Are Longer Than 10 Minutes

1. Open a Google AdSense account, which can speed up the Partnership application process. According to YouTube, users who already have an AdSense account can expect a decision on their application within 24 hours. Others might have to wait up to three days.

2. Apply for Partnership by submitting the online application on the YouTube Partners website. The form will ask for biographical information, as well as information about your content. Keep in mind that all posted content must be original. Users also must own the global rights to all music videos.

3. If admitted into the Partner program, you will be able to upload videos longer than 10 minutes.

4. Click 'Upload,' found at the top of any YouTube page. Click 'Browse' to pull up the video and describe it (title, description, tags and category). Click 'Save' to complete the upload.

How to Earn Money With My PayPal Account

1. Log in to your PayPal account.

2. Click 'Money Market' near the bottom of the screen on your 'My Account Page.'

3. Click 'Enroll Now' to enroll your PayPal account in the money market program that sweeps the balance of your account into a money market fund on a daily basis. This means your money will always be accessible like it is now, plus you will earn money on every dollar in your account every day.

4. Next, click 'Referrals' at the bottom of the 'My Account' page. (It is near where you clicked on 'Money Market.') You will get two kinds of codes. One is a link that you can add to any email or other format you chose. The second is code that can be placed on a website. Both will pay you $1,000 anytime someone signs up for a PayPal Merchant account after clicking on your link.

How to Earn Money Through Google's AdSense Program

1. Apply for the AdSense Program. Visit www.google.com/adsense to fill out the online application form. Answer the questions completely and accurately. You will need either a blog or a website where you can put ads on.

2. Wait for the response e-mail. Probably the most anxious you'll be during this process no doubt.

3. You'll receive a response letting you know if the application was approved or denied. If you have tried AdSense previously and canceled your account, you CAN reapply for a new one, you'll just have to use a different e-mail address in the application. If you have tried it and were canceled by Google, you are not eligible to participate in the program anymore.

4. Once your application is approved and you receive an e-mail confirmation, click the link inside the e-mail to go to your account. There you can create ads to put into your website. The instructions are easy to follow and simple to do.

5. Try experimenting with different ad styles. The more creative you are, the more the monetary possibilities exist. The nice thing about the program is you can track which ads are your main sources of revenue.

6. Another way to earn money through AdSense is by using a third party, such as this site, eHow. I've mentioned this before in my internet business article. With using a third party site, they have applied to the AdSense program and give you a cut of ad revenue generated from your pages.

Google and Advertising

History of Google Advertising

Google entered the advertising business in 2000 with its AdWords product. It then followed up in 2003 with a beta version of its AdSense application. In 2007, Google acquired DoubleClick, which was a business that sold tools for targeted advertising, such as tracking cookies, to advertising agencies and business clients.

AdWords

AdWords is Google's primary advertising product, marketed to businesses both large and small. Upon creating an AdWords account, businesses can create an ad campaign with a short advertisement, a website and a set of keywords. When a user makes a Google search and enters the keywords the business is associated with, that business is displayed as a 'Sponsored Link' on the top and right of the actual search results. The link then leads to the business's website. Google charges for this service on a pay-per-click basis, with a payment plan that contains a strict budget limit.

AdSense

AdSense is an ad-serving program, which is marketed to website owners that are trying to earn revenue through hosting advertisements on their site. These ads may be text-based, or they can include images and videos. To use the program, a website designer inserts a string of JavaScript code onto the client's website. This code accesses Google's servers and retrieves AdWords advertising to display on the site. If using contextual advertising, Google accesses its cache of the website to determine which ads to deliver. In addition, the program favors high-paying advertisers by placing their content more prominently on the website, which results in more profit for the host.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Google Advertising

For website owners, AdSense offers many advantages over other forms of advertising. Before Google, most Web advertising was done through banner ads and pop-ups. These were found to be irritating to users, and many contained irrelevant, overly generic or deceptive offers. With AdSense's contextual advertising, most advertisements are tuned to the content of the website, increasing the odds of an ad's relevancy to visitors. However, AdSense is still imperfect. Although Google does police some content and removes certain keywords it considers inappropriate, it cannot guarantee that all of its AdWords partners are legitimate. As a result, users may consider the results less legitimate than ads sold directly by respected companies.
