How to Estimate AdSense ECPM

1. Open your Internet browser and access the AdSense website. Use your login and password to enter your account to collect the necessary data needed for the calculation. Under the 'Overview' tab, locate the section called 'AdSense for Content' and look to the right. The number to the right represents the information for your entire account. If you click on the clickable text link labeled, 'Top Channels,' this will show you the top advertisement channels (websites) which are making you money. Note down the number of page impressions under the 'Page impressions' header, along with the earnings under the 'Estimated Earnings.'

2. Compare revenue across different channels and advertising programs. Effective cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM) is a useful way of doing this. Essentially, effective CPM represents your estimated earnings for every 1,000 impressions you receive. You may use the averages of your entire AdSense account, or the numbers from a specific channel, depending on your needs.

3. Divide your earning by the page impressions and multiply that amount by a 1,000 to get your eCPM. If you have estimated earnings of $90 and 20,000 page impressions, the eCPM would amount to -- ($90 / 20,000) * 1,000 -- or $4.50.

How to Add Music to Google Page Websites

1. Log in and access your Google page. If you don't have a Google account, sign up for one for free.

2. Click on the 'Edit Page Code' button. This is the HTML code for your Google page. This is the area where you add music to your page.

3. Select the music you want to add to your Google page. Find the music online so you can use their source code on your website for direct music links. Some sites to search for music are MySpace, Imeen and Yahoo Music (see Resources below). The source code is listed on the sites in a box marked 'Source Code.'

4. Copy and paste the embedded music code from the source website to your Google page (in the Edit Page Code window from step 2). There are three basic types of embedded code. If the embedded code says 'Auto start = true' then the song plays when the page opens. The next type is a music player that begins when you press 'Start.' The third type is a multiple-song player that lists various songs and plays them in order when you press the 'Start' or 'Play' button.

5. Click 'Save' to save the music to your Google website. Click 'Preview' or 'View' to test the music player.

How to Promote Disability Awareness

1. Review your existing policies and practices and revise as necessary. Ensure that your organization complies with applicable laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations.

2. Look to other organizations for information related to diversity and disability awareness. National Organization on Disability (NOD) has an objective to promote workforce development for individuals with disabilities. NOD provides guidance to organizations in developing inclusive policies and practices.

3. Require appropriate training for your staff. Ensure that your human resources office can adequately handle disability-related matters, from providing reasonable accommodations to managing intermittent leave. Guide your supervisors to refer employees who discuss their own disability to human resources and to maintain confidentiality.

4. Acknowledge disability as a component of diversity and a successful workforce. Companies have many options to do this, such as utilizing company-wide communications to share general information or hosting informational events to highlight disability and its role in a diverse workplace.

5. Provide employees with formal updates on your company policy related to disability.

How to Make Money From Commission Junction

1. If you do not have a website or blog, it's not hard to get one. If you want to create a website, you can purchase a domain and a web host for your site. GoDaddy and Hostgator are a couple that have reasonable prices. The first step is to get a blog or website up and running, if you do not have one already.

2. Go to the Commission Junction website and sign up.

3. Once you are signed up, browse through the different advertisers. Commission Junction has over 1,000 from which to choose. Browse by categories that complement the audience of your website. Click on a category to look at the advertiser list. To find out more details about a particular program, click on the advertiser that interests you.

4. Look for advertisers that sell a product or service that is associated with your blog or website, so you have a better chance to earn some money. When you find an advertiser that interests you, click on the 'join program' button. Agree to the terms and conditions after reading them carefully. Some programs approve you automatically, and some approve you manually, which takes time. When you are approved for a program, it is added to your link relationship list, which is a list of all the advertisers that approved you to post their links on your website or blog.

5. To get the link for the advertiser that approved you, click on the 'Get links' tab from the home page of Commission Junction. If you choose to post a link from an advertiser that is not active or has not approved you yet, you do not collect a commission on the sales or leads.

6. Choose a link or banner. When you click on 'View links,' a list pops up for all the links that you can post on your site or blog. When you find a link you like, click on it, and from there you can copy HTML or JAVA for that link and paste it to your website or blog.

7. Click 'Publish,' and the link appears. That's it; you're done. Now your site is monetized by Commission Junction.

Google Adsense Ad Types

Content Ads

Website masters and publishers can insert AdSense code within the content of a website or blog to display ads based on the site's content. The more targeted and centrally focused the content, the better targeted the ad. You can choose between several different ad sizes and shapes, customize the colors and fonts, and even select what you want to appear if a relevant ad is not available.

Domain Ads

This allows you to use an unused domain with no content for AdSense. Instead of leaving the site blank with an under construction sign or an error, the site virtually becomes one huge ad list. The ads relate to the domain name only as there is no content on the site.

Feed Ads

This type of ad appears when you have AdSense ads show up in the RSS feeds of your blog. RSS stands for 'Really Simple Syndication' and allows someone to subscribe to a website's updates. It is within that update feed that publishers can insert code for AdSense ads.

Mobile Content Ads

These are ads particularly designed for mobile content, or mobile-only websites. Now that many more people are accessing websites via their mobile phones, many businesses, non-profits, etc. are building parallel sites for phones. These are sites specifically designed for compatibility with the programs and software (or lack thereof) of mobile phones. Obviously, you can only take advantage of this ad type if you have a mobile-only website.

Mobile Application Ads

With the influx of Smart Phones and the thousands of applications, or apps, that run them, Google has introduced AdSense for apps. It is now in beta for free apps only and for Android or iPhone. In October 2010, one must meet Google's requirements, apply and receive approval to use this.

Search Ads

Another way to display Google AdSense is by adding a Google search tool on your website or blog. Use of the Google search tool will pull up relevant posts on your own blog as well as Google search results--and the AdSense ads.
